How was the surrounding area? My understanding is there is a ton of black on black crime

@@wesmorgan7729 thanks for the input. Family was looking to relocate and that place came up, googled and there seems to be a lot of shootings and crime.

I've lived her for about 3 years. It's a great town. Not too big, but not too small. The guy from Mississippi, Malcolm, is super cool and owns a pub-style place that has weekly trivia. They have an annual Harry Potter event downtown. They have a movie theater that plays pretty new movies. They have big historic buildings they work to make the unused upstairs spaces into apartments, which makes it newcomer-friendly. The only problem is living in town is super expensive because of the "historic" value in the houses.

Ironic the lady sd she’s from Long Island and moved to Edenton (and i can tell by how she pronounced it she definitely is) whereas I’m from Edenton and moved to Long Island NY! Edenton is very segregated. And its a retirement town. I said if I ever became wealthy that id help that town out for the better. No jobs or good recreational things there at all. If you’re from outta town yes Edenton will treat you with the greatest southern hospitality you’ve ever experienced. But sit back and really pick apart the scene and you’ll see that good ole’ racism just has its aura around that place!

I just visited yesterday and luckily I didn’t get that vibe at all! Hopefully, if that was something that was an opportunity here, they have started making steps to fix it.
