Sorry for the loss..its not easy take heart. .But.....Why did the emergency area in hospital ask for a bill if the child was brought in dead? Its likely that the clot moved from the swollen leg..and ascended and probably caused pulmonary embolism (moved to the lungs)which is very fatal ... Who was this doctor who discharge such a child without proper investigation if he was taken to hospital as the matron report thru the phone? this child would have been admitted as a matter of emergency once they suspected the child had probably a deep venous thrombosis(clot) due to the swollen leg ,if at all they took him to hospital????so that they start him on meds to clear the clot and of course restrict him from ambulating. or walking(one of the management of a clot is to avoid moving around until it's cleared to avoid the clot moving to the lung,heart or brain)..until the doctors have made sure the clot have been disolved.then discharge....Both the school and the hospital have a serious case to answer.Sometimes cases of sickness can happen and death which are unavoidable even in school,but this one basing on the story of the mother,, there seem to be an issue of negligence both from school and hospital,mis diagnosis, mismanagement and delayed investigation and treatment from the hospital..
