Oligosaccharides- 1) contain 3-10 monosaccharides 2) ex- raffinose Sucrose, maltose, lactose are example of disaccharides as they contain 2 monosaccharides. Monosaccharides are simple sugars which cannot be hydrolysed. Jaise Disaccharide ko hydrolyse kiya toh 2 monosaccharides dega. Eg- sucrose is made up of/ on hydrolysis gives fructose and glucose. But Monosaccharides are simplest form of carbohydrates. Eg- glucose, fructose, pentose etc
