I can't wait to return to campus again. I've been back once since I've graduated and I think about my days as a student often. This is the best introductory video of a university I've seen. I got a strong sense of the college environment and the variety of options available. I have to admit I had a preconception when I was younger that Notre Dame would be a hyper-religious school with some proselytizing involved in school functions, so I wound up going to Carnegie-Mellon (undergraduate) and Northern Illinois University (for graduate work). I was impressed with the family feel that the Notre Dame dormitories had. The only place I've experienced that kind of family sense in the dorms were the few years I spent at North Carolina School of the Arts. Being part of a family environment when you're hundreds of miles away from home is important. And helps you keep your sanity when you're young and working hard on your studies.

Beautiful Andrew! Thank you friend and congratulations on your degree. My dad earned his phd in chemical engineering at ND in '63 and had a very successful career in pollution control and solvent recovery. He helped co-author industrial guidelines for the Environmental Protection Agency through President Nixon cabinet 1970- 1975. Notre Dame is an awesome institution! GO IRISH!

I attend Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as an current Undergraduate Student but I have picked University of Notre Dame for Graduate School! You didn't mention The Rock! If you do any more ND tour videos, I would love to see one on the individual dorms. There's so many now that I can't keep track of them. When I was there (1972-1976), we just had a North Quad and a South Quad. I was in Dillon Hall for all four years. Dillon Hall was the best hall on campus (If you've seen the movie, "Animal House", that's what Dillon Hall was like back then) but as you know, everyone thinks that the dorm that he/she lived in was/is the best.

The only major con I can think of is tuition. Unless if you, your family lives an affluent lifestyle or can take the responsibility of paying hefty amounts of money in loans, Notre Dame is not for you. I know $60,000 in tuition is too much bang for my bucks.

Yes lol. Although it’s a catholic school they don’t discriminate in the application process regarding religion. I’m currently studying at ND and only 1-2 people in my friend group are catholic, and there are clubs and programs on campus that help provide space and communities for students of other religions.

As far as campuses go ND isnt the best looking campus. Dorms are old, the architecture dated and style is stale. The architecture bldg is hideous. UCs have better looking campuses, PVAMU smaller and prettier, same with Miami of Ohio....The student store is way too small. However, the food in D Hall (South) is fantastic. The Library isnt what I expected for a college with an solid academic reputation. But the librarians are the best and most helpful. Duncan is a really nice space. It was added to the stadium to get people to not think of ND so much as a football school. Which it is! The faculty at ND are very nice and top notch! None better anywhere except maybe UCs, Ivys and Stanford. Your dorm will be your identity forever! You wont get to choose. The alumni network isnt any worse or any better than anywhere else. Probably USCs alumni network might be a tad better only because they have a chip on their shoulders about being lesser of an academic school than ND and UCLA. There are some downsides not covered here. The Brothers and Priests of Holy Cross own and run the campus. They set the rules. You wont get a traditional college free style life that you would get if you went to a public university. Too many rules at ND and you have the whole Catholic faith hanging over your head. Beware if you are hoping Animal House rules will apply. They shut an entire dorm down permanently for this very reason. Also, if you are an ultra liberal student looking to protest any and everything this wont be a good place for you. However, most faculty tend to be liberal and open minded.

What?! ND features regularly on list of the most beautiful campuses in the US and is architecturally very elegant and cohesive a la USC or Stanford. It also ridiculous that any one would think UCs (or Miami of Ohio or PVAMU?!!! lol) have better looking campuses. Have you actually been to any UCs? They're generally a mess. Some have nice locations but that comes with plenty of homeless people (thinking about UCLA & UCB).
