ESPN's Maria Taylor goes on an all-access tour of the Notre Dame campus with the Fighting Irish’s defensive lineman Jerry Tillery and punter Tyler Newsome, learning about the traditions of the school and the different buildings they have where students spend their time during the school year. Taylor also learns what the Notre Dame football locker room looks like the day before a game and the path the Fighting Irish football team takes to get to their stadium.

Jerry tillery is a great guy. He had some less than awesome moments on the field in the past but you can tell he has matured. Showing respect and genuinely appreciating the ushers for who they are and what they do. The man has come a long way.

I was at Notre Dame campus in 2006. Beautiful campus. I believe the irish catholic tradition at Notre Dame plays a strong role in their success. Helps to find a way to win and play like a champion. Go Irish!

Notre Dame upgraded there facilities aka locker room and there’s nothing spectacular about it. Yes it’s an improvement, but nothing as near as what Oregon, Clemson and Texas did a few years ago where there locker rooms and lockers look like a state of the art class of its own. Even Texas A&M looks like a beautiful lounge that you never wanna leave.

Looks like ND is going through a bit of dry spell when it comes to winning the National Championship. Between 1924 to 1988, they won 11 times, an average of one every 6 years or so, with the longest period of 17 years between 1949 and 1966. If they don't win it this year, they will have gone 30 years since the last NC. BTW, I'm a huge college football fan and love the history and tradition of Notre Dame Stadium, but with all the money that ND football generates, you would think they could have spent a little money on the locker room remodel. Pretty pedestrian compared to all the other major college football programs.

They are coming around too. I think the Locker room is fine and thanks to BK other additions are being met to keep up with the times. It took him a little but he s finally getting through to the ND brass and developing this football team into a true program. People have to remember Notre Dame is about their academics above anything else and finally football is becoming a close 2nd. The Brass is finally starting to see that, in order to compete at a high level, they need all these upgrades.

Jack McLean - That's the beauty of KZbin comment sections. You can post comments without knowing anything about it. You can also comment if you know every single thing about a subject. I simply made a comment regarding the ND locker rooms that were shown in the video. Based on what I saw in the video, their locker room is substantially below their peer group in terms of space, modern amenities, etc. It was simply an observation based on what the rest of the college football world is doing. As I mentioned in my post, I understand and appreciate the history and tradition of ND. If they want to keep their locker room sparse and more in keeping with the rest of the stadium, that's all well and good. My point was that they certainly can afford a more comfortable space for the athletes - like these: kzbin.info?search_query=College+football+locker+room+tour BTW, what exactly don't I know about ND? What I am missing that doesn't allow me to make the point that their locker room is well below their peer institutions (keep in mind, I already admitted that I appreciate the history and tradition, which is rich and should be embraced.)
