This is a mental disorder/psychiatric disorder. The first time I dealt with it I was working as a school psychological counselor. The student I was taking through therapy had attempted suicide three times by cutting through her wrists. Every time she failed in her suicide attempt,she would later make cuts on her body just to see the blood dripping and feel relief. As per my professional ethics I knew this case was beyond counseling so I spoke to the client, we involved the parent and I referred them to a psychiatrist even though we still remained in touch. Now the current problem is that the client is grown up and wants to get married but what will she tell the spouse about the many marks on her body. In my opinion, Susan need urgent combined attention of a professional psychological counselor and a Psychiatric doctor.

I agree with you. Most likely she has ADHD, which can easily be managed with medications. Clearly she is very smart, with a golden heart. But due to chemical imbalances, she is unable to manage her life because she does not have the ability to self regulate. This causes frustrations, anger and depression. People with this condition also tend to get taken advantage of. Depression is a secondary illnesses for her. She needs medication to help with the balance of neurotransmitters to help with executive functioning.
