Very niceeee! thank you for composing this! Im new into synths and NDLR May you please explain what is the midi routing here? I'm really curious which device playing what and also what is the audio routing? all in stereo? Thanks

Thanks! My Digitakt is sending clock sync out to the NDLR so the Digitakt drums are synced with the NDLR motifs. Then the NDLR is sending MIDI out to a MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru box. Then from there the MIDI splits out to the Sirin, Model D and iPad. I am using an iRig MIDI 2 on my iPad for the MIDI input. I have a small mixer off camera that handles the audio routing. The Big Sky is a send effect on the mixer which allows me to apply reverb to the Sirin, Model D and the iPad.

That was a great jam! Thanks. Have you found any iPad sequencers that compare to the NDLR?
@chrislandon46294 жыл бұрын
I haven't really looked much, so I am not sure. The NDLR is quite unique though and it gets pretty complex so I doubt there would be anything like it on the market. While it doesn't really compare to the NDLR, I do own an iPad sequencer called Fugue Machine that I would recommend checking out if you are interested in iPad sequencers. It is very basic and limited, but has a really unique concept that can lead to some pretty cool creations.

So nice! :) . How is your midi routed?

well done! Can you tell me how you connected the Digitone and the NDLR exactly? From the Midi-Out of the Digitone to the Midi-In of the NDLR? What was then set in the setting of the NDLR? I don't get the Digitone and the NDLR synchronized with the Motifs.

@@SchalkerFW Sorry I missed this question! I've gotten this question a few times, so I'll copy/paste one of my responses from another video: I just send clock sync from the Digitakt (or DN) out into the NDLR to keep everything on beat, but the actual sequence triggering is done independently. I don't think I've ever gotten them to properly trigger via each other before. The NDLR sequencer is a bit weird anyway in that it seems to work like a pause/resume rather than a true stop/start. I believe the PLAY ALL button can be configured to act like a true stop/start so the sequence always starts from the beginning, but I could be wrong. My current workflow basically consists of starting all the motifs and getting them to sound good together, then hitting play on my Digitakt (or DN) wherever I want the 'start' of the sequence to be. It takes a few tries to get the timing right, but once I get it right, the clock sync keeps everything locked on beat forever. I'll mute the Digitakt one it's locked into beat, start the jam, then unmute the Digitakt as needed so I don't have to worry about getting my timing right in a live jam situation. It's not perfect but it works. There might be a better way to do it, but this way works for me. Hope this helps!

Stupid question but what do they call those little shelfs you put on top of your desk? Are they just like monitor stands?

nvm I actually found these lol. Monoprice Large Multimedia Desktop Stand and Allsop Metal Art Jr. Monitor Stand

Really nice! It is pretty and upbeat, but with some growl to it. Which AudioKit synth is that on the iPad?
@chrislandon46294 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim! On iPad, that is the AudioKit Synth One using a tweaked version of the Purple Nights patch (I turned off the ARP and adjusted the decay and sustain to get more of a pluck style sound).
