Nice and crunchy! Think we can all safely say the last year has been a mood. This captures it perfectly

It's crunchtime! The idea of running an entire track through high distortion seemed a bit too much, but it turned out great! Captured the feeling you are definitely not alone with. Keep it up my friend!

wow, just stumbled upon your channel. Awesome! instant subscribe. I'd like do make a similar setup, and own an analog rytm and analog four, and have some desktop synths too. Guess I'm ordering the NDLR ;-)! could you please explain how you set this up here? the NDLR is controlling/sequencing the model D and Sirin? do you have a hidden mixer somewhere? and is the masterclock from the digitakt? is it synced with the NDLR? if so, how? Thank you!!!

Thank you for the follow! Yeah, the NDLR is controlling/sequencing the Model D, Sirin and iPad. I do have a small hardware mixer off to the side that everything gets mixed through. In regards to the clock/sync, the master clock would be the Digitakt, but the NDLR is hard to get synced up properly. I had a similar comment that asked about that as well. I'll copy my whole response here because I think most of it applies to your clock/sync question: "I just send clock sync from the Digitakt out into the NDLR to keep everything on beat, but the actual sequence triggering is done independently. I don't think I've ever gotten them to properly trigger via each other before. The NDLR sequencer is a bit weird anyway in that it seems to work like a pause/resume rather than a true stop/start. I believe the PLAY ALL button can be configured to act like a true stop/start so the sequence always starts from the beginning, but I could be wrong. My current workflow basically consists of starting all the motifs and getting them to sound good together, then hitting play on my Digitakt wherever I want the 'start' of the sequence to be. It takes a few tries to get the timing right, but once I get it right, the clock sync keeps everything locked on beat forever. I'll mute the Digitakt one it's locked into beat, start the jam, then unmute the Digitakt as needed so I don't have to worry about getting my timing right in a live jam situation. It's not perfect but it works. There might be a better way to do it, but this way works for me. Hope this helps!"

@@chrislandon4629 thanks for this, and for the warning with the sync issues with the NDLR. Will have to see if this is a dealbreaker for me!

Nice vibes dude! Can you outline how you connected it all? I also am looking into the NDLR and seems like a good combo! What is the iPad doing?

Thanks! I have been meaning to create some visual diagrams so maybe I'll do that sometime soon, but I'll try my best to explain how this is all set up. Also, the iPad is running the Animoog synth. That's the pad sound that comes in around the 2 minute mark. Amazing synth which I highly recommend for the iPad! MIDI: Digitakt > NDLR for clock sync (Digitakt is controlling the NDLR clock so the percussion stays in sync with the NDLR motifs) NDLR > MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru Box > Model D/Sirin/iPad (I am using the IK MIDI 2 for the iPad connection) AUDIO: Digitakt/Model D/Sirin/iPad > Hardware Mixer Hardware Mixer Aux Send > Strymon Big Sky > Hardware Mixer Aux Return (I am sending a little bit of reverb to the synths) Hardware Mixer Main Out > Analog Heat > Zoom H1n recorder

Loved this Chris - thank you. You really captured something with the addition of the Analogue heat. BTW what are you playing on the ipad?

Thank you! I am using the Animoog synth on the iPad. It is playing the pad sound that comes in at the 1:56 mark.

@@chrislandon4629 Just came back to this again today (still as beautiful) - have since bought a NDLR - how did you get the motif for the sirin, to be syncopated like that (did you have to go in an edit the pattern in the pattern editor and set human/random etc.)? Am just getting to grips with mine. And which chord type did you go for as I think the base key is 'C'? Sorry for all the questions. If you fancy hopping on a zoom call instead of typing that would be cool, but no worries if you want to keep this in KZbin. Best, Charlie

@@CharlieHughJones Hello again! There is no randomization on the Sirin motif. I just changed the length of the motif to be a different length than the Digitakt, thus creating the syncopated type rhythm. As far as the chord type goes, I can't honestly remember, haha. I'll have to look next time I fire up the NDLR.

Really love your ambient!one question: how you use the NDLR to let the digtakt to run its sequencer? I just NDLR to connect my A4 and when I hit play on NDLR, sequencer on A4 doesn't start, but only play the notes NDLR send to it through midi
