Hi Karl, Loved the comments, had me chuckling away to myself. But I want to applaud you in showing how things dont always turn out. There are two great lessons here, the first is showing how you spotted the problems, how you "recovered" them and didn't simply just "throw the teddy out the cot". The second, and I think even more important is that far to many KZbin videos show a 3 minute section of music that took 30 hrs to work out, and the trouble with that is we judge our 3 minute noodles against those videos and get disheartened. So its refreshing to see that things don't always go well great "Noodlers" like yourself and so we should all persevere.

Hey man, thank you much for posting this! We sometimes learn as much when things go wrong, as we do when it goes right. I appreciate you taking the time to make and share this video, and I'm sure others do, too. 😀🎹🎸

Thankyou for the comment, we learn more from our mistakes than from our successes is something my dad always says.

Wow great use of all the “less used” NDLR features. And I really enjoyed your NDLR review.

Nice stuff...mistakes included. Are you using the chord sequencer? I'm assuming yes?

Thankyou for the comment, actually I'm using Reaper to sequence the NDLR. I find it quicker than using the chord sequencer as I've made a template to easily jump into it. As I don't have any HW synths it means that I'm using the DAW anyways for softsynths, may as well use it for the chord gen too. I will have a video soon explaining how I set things up so stay tuned for that.

@@KarlClarkeMusic nice man. Yeah, the chord sequencer seems convoluted to my easily confused brain...I did try at one point sequencing it with a model:cycles. But I've since moved on to a Pyramid for sequencing. Thinking I may need to try external sequence again. Question, are you having to send the note on the step right before you want it to change? That was the case on the M:C but assume its an inherent thing, as you have to press the buttons right before as well.

Yeh so I'm using Reaper for the chord sequencer with custom note names in the piano roll. There is also an offset of about a 1/4 note on the channel allowing for me to sequence as I would normally but for the information to be sent early. This has been a feature in most DAWs due to MIDI processing latency so it is using this feature for another purpose.

Playback Time Offset in the routing menu is the name of the feature. Also check out my review of the NDLR if you like the Jams. Should have a video showing my DAW setup in the near future.

@@KarlClarkeMusic great. Looks like the Pyramid has note offset in Step mode! Will give it a try when I magically have some time to mess around in the studio.
