Good work Brandon. Watson is perhaps this year's greatest risk reward assets in dynasty from my tape review. Raw footwork but fantastic dynamic and ceiling. Routes need work. Tends to drum his feet when he should just use a rocker step to get horizontal. Too much drum for comeback and some digs. Also had inconsistent QB play. Would like to see more plays away from his frame but his QB doesn't throw a great ball. Upside is tough to project. He also a late grower so he was small in high school into his late teens when he exploded to 6'4. Needs to add weight. Appreciate your objectivity in your review. Keep up the great work.

NO WAY did Watson have a 13% drop rate. Most evaluators confuse a drop in football with an error in baseball. In baseball, if your glove touches it, it is an error. In football, if a WR stretches out and the ball hits the ends of his hands, it is not a drop, it is an overthrow. The ball has to be within a normal comfortable catching radius to be a drop. A site that has video of all 105 or so catches, lists 3 drops. So, under 3 percent.

Wow, this is just a really bad player evaluation. Watson is an exceptional athlete that developed in a very good football program. He's a more complete player because of that. He's not only a speed freak, he's a blocker, RB, kick returner, excellent WR, & honor student. His drops have improved dramatically even under constant doubles. I'd love to have Kupp (FCS), Thielen (DIV II), and Watson on my crew. The Combine will make him a high 2 and maybe a 1.

I see you replied to "NoOvertime" that you're not sure Watson is an elite athlete. Maybe this helps. According to Next Gen Stats, Watson's Combine performance earned him a max-99 athleticism score which is 9 points higher than the WR in second place. It's the first time ever that a WR of his height earned a maximum score. Calvin Johnson scored a 92 in the 2007 Combine. By the way, Watson's hands measured 10 1/8". Most of the 2022 Combine WRs were FBS so I think he's competitive outside the FCS.

@patriots news report But NFL teams aren't just looking at the most recent year's film; they'll be looking at 4 years of film. Watson caught a lot of people's attention last year when they were watching NDSU tape of Lance from 2019 when Watson was a red shirt sophomore; and even if they didn't know Watson's name, would talk about player No. 1 and wonder who he was. This year they found out. Watson is also a kickoff returner; and in his 2020 red shirt junior year, he returned 10 kickoffs, avg, of 33.8 yards, including a 100 yard return and a 94 yard return.

When I see comments like yours, it really rings home that the hype has gotten a bit out of control. People like to compare him to Megatron or Randy Moss, which makes sense athletically but those 2 guys were ridiculously good football players in college as well. Yeah 20 yards per catch... blah blah... there are levels to this. To say a receiver, that had 800 yards as a Senior at a sub-D1 school, has no holes in their game is bullish to say the least. I noticed that his first movement from the snap is to lift a foot, usually his right foot, and then put it down right where it started at. So, it's wasted motion that delays him starting his route.
