Rohit Sharma has never been a test class batsman. i am surprised selectors did not see his test record especially overseas. they picked Rohit purely on his ODI and T20 performance. that was bit naive of seletors. Batting in tests is totally different from ODI and T20. Even Kohli struggles overseas time and time again. Also no player over 35 should play test cricket.

A coach's job in cricket has always been just to iron out any flaws that may creep into the players' game. It is finally upto the players to take his advice. But when they themselves don't then there's not much a coach can do. Remember Virat Kohli v/s Anil Kumble? Rahul Dravid was considered an out and out test cricketer but he did a very good job as coach and under him and Rohit Sharma we won the T20 WC. But did we win the 50over WC? Under Rohit Sharma, no! You will never develop these skills if you only ever play 20 overs an innings. Every Australian kid grows up playing 2 day/80 over minimum red ball cricket, into 4 day red ball cricket, then you might get picked in a BBL team. Not a single Australian Test cricketer has been selected on white ball form since David Warner, and he was just a freak. This all works in Australia because the only goal of any kid is to wear the baggy green. No one wants to be a T20 player, you just want to play a Test match for Australia. Wear the same cap as Bradman and Benaud and Lillee and Chappell and Warne. So Aussie kids play red ball cricket so they're good enough to play Tests one day. I don't know how you could make it work in India. It seems to me a talented Indian kid is more interested in a big contract and social media revenue, white ball cricket is easier, and there are so many more opportunities through the IPL..... I don't see how you steer young kids towards the grind of red ball cricket with that system

It's an immature thing. What does gambhir has reacted? it's stupid thing. now the time has such that BCCI has to react on gambhir. This is not a loss, it's humiliation India has been suffering. India has lost because of persistence with a bunch of lack of confident players like Rohit,Kohli, siraj, pant. When your team's captain and experienced players are less confident in their role. You have to receive the consequences. Aus immediately dropped mcswitney and now marsh. They are getting the positive result. Any game can be won with a group not with an individual player. Aus now will not go with out of form players. India had got an opportunity with Perth win. They immediately included Rohit , gill, ashwin in the place of padikal, jurel and Sundar. They also gave the captaincy to Rohit who suffered whitewashing against nz at home. It was the duty of gambhir to make proactive decisions but he persisted with failure star players. So gambhir has to step down as head coach along with Rohit sharma.

These are the fruits of IPL. Soon India will be at the bottom of Test rankings. Reality is that most current Indian newcomer cricketers do not play much Ranji cricket and Test cricket is not their priority. We will no longer going to see many Test greats unless we reign in the IPL monster.

Gambhir has zero gut in terms of dropping Rohit and Virat. That would have made Pant playing more responsible innings. Ashwin made right decision, sounding it clear that Gambhir, Virat and Rohit time has come.

If india would have lost with new bunch of players, that would have been acceptable.......but to see such consistent failures from senior players is worrisome and not a good sign and certainly some hard decisions needs to be taken and i am sure will be expected soon.

He is blasting his team because his batters played stupid shots and got out. next to no game awareness. a match that could have at least been saved, if not won, ended up in a humiliating loss. The team deserves a proper dressing down.

Even if he considers that Australia might be a better team in their conditions, it's important to call out irresponsibility n stupidity by few Indian batsmen. Isme condition ka koi role nhi h, Pant's batting ka koi logic nhi h, gifting away his wicket n Virat poking outside off bowl, Rohit ka to don't know how anybody can justify his presence in the team at all.

what do you mean you have had enough? couldn't you see we were always a fast bowler short? Reddy Reddy Reddy. ok he scored a century but will that compensate for the 300 extra runs we conceded in the absence of a fast bowler? you could not see that. we needed Prasich Krishna or Rana in place of Reddy. if you still want to keep Reddy as a batsman that is ok. Atleast get rid of Sundar or Jadeja and bring in a FAST bowler to reduce Bumrah's burden

Test matches are all about patience, grafting and staying put at the crease. One cannot play in test matches like in T 20. This indian batting side is by far the weakest in a long long time. Last time when we inflicted a shock defeat to kangaroos, the team lacked stars but had grafters. The team had chutzpah. Rohit and Kohli are a spent force and the team needs a rebuilding. I cannot see this indian team's graph going up for some time till the team stabilizes. In bowling, how long can you expect Bumrah to win matches for us. He needs support at the other end. Like Australian bowling which is relentless. Playing for India is ten times more challenging as we depend on two three players so heavily. We have ' stars' but not a 'team'. Charismatic stars are not good to build a total team.
