Searching For Spring Crappies

I'm back and on the search for spring crappies! My friend @Jagged Tooth Tackle and I hit a couple different lakes for a day of fishing from our kayaks.

I rarely comment on a KZbin video. But since you took the opportunity to express some real appreciation for our collective support, I will offer my appreciation for your channel. My 2 young boys and I love to fish. I have been fishing since I was 5. I even got a degree in fisheries biology. I guided in Alaska for 4 years. I fish 1-2 days a week. How you approach fishing and how you teach all of us to be better at fishing is your special gift. Your channel and the areas you fish inspired me to book a trip to your neck of the woods this summer. My oldest son, constantly asks me if we are going to catch smallmouth like the NDYAK guy. Keep on fishing, sharing quality content, an occasional laugh, and your success will only grow.

Having spent a good deal of time myself in Alaska, & having also fished (with an incredible guide) the BWCA, I feel your comment carries significant credibility. Love the return, you certainly are not a "one trick pony" when it comes to fishing. On those slower days, still post! Toss some tips in, give some recommendations that newer anglers and even experienced anglers can pull from too. You set the highest expectations per video because of how great of a fisherman you are, everyone has those lesser bite days and its better than a day sat inside. We all support you big time Matt!

NDYakAngler, you are the sole reason I began throwing the whopper plopper for smallies here in Oregon, and now I always have one tied on. I check your channel for new videos all the time. Thanks for taking the time to share about your life's changes. Change is hard, but often for the better. I hope everything works out for you man. I know that girl's kids are probably doing what kids their age do when a new father figure shows up: rebel. But that patience you display on the water will help you in that regard as well. Be patient and be there for them when they need you, and they'll eventually realize that it is you that they can rely on. Then, they'll figure out it is you they can trust, as well. Great to see your renewed Matt. Life has so many ups and downs. To realize your blessings helps us to deal with those down days. I too am a father to a son and a Dad to two other boys I’ve been with since they were 5, now 19 and serving in the US Army at Fort Bragg, NC. Take that 12 year old out fishing. Let him fall in love with the sport on his own and his respect for you will grow as you impact his life for the better.
