What if a prog metal band would have some kickass vocals and a beast of a singer ? That band is none other than Symphony X and The Man is Sir Russel Allen. They playe a very different flavor of prog than Dream Theater with symphonic neoclassical metal influences and some power metal in there too. Michael Romeo their guitarist is also a wizard at his job. Some compare him with Yingwie Malmsteen. The track to introduce you straightforward to Symphony X is definitely Walls of Babylon. This song is fire and tremendously epic while keeping the cheesiness at a minimum level.
