Long overdue tribute to a master alto saxophonist, the closest link we have to Charlie Parker and the golden age of jazz and because he took care of himself, still playing great and carrying the message.....Thank you, Lou!

Check out the Lou Donaldson of the mid- to late '50s - Bebop, all the way, baby. A Night At Bird Land with Clifford Brown and Art Blakey (sp.) The '60s saw Lou defecting from Bebop Jazz to Funk- and Soul-dom - to make a quick buck. "Caterpillar" and "Make It With You" were great singles - and so also was his composition "Caracas".
