We know Terri is a great player. No question about that. But 'Gender equity' she says. That propaganda belongs at a feminist rally, along with powerful chanting of "We hate men! We hate Men!" with a mannequin of a guy up there who they can burn in effigy (or beat with sticks and baseball bats), because that is what this is really about. The more Terri Lyne expresses her objective, the less tasteful she sounds as a person. There are many great women musicians who, uh well they play great music because they do, and that is what it is about. Some who are like Terri Lyne (if you listen to what her sideways agenda is about) are more interested not so much in promoting musically advanced women because they play well, but about more than just a hint of how women have to stick together, women have it harder as musicians, a good populace of men are trying to hold women back from being successful because men are mean, influential, powerful, biased and unfair. Then she proceeds to casually mention all the pros she has played with, like Wayne Shorter, Herbie, John Scofield, Patrice Rushen; this famous player, that famous player. And she TEACHES at Berkley school.(Ok, we know she is that good. Like I need it shoved down my throat at any opportunity) As if I did not know she was a top, first chair player of course, because I am a man, and all men are stupid and don't have ears and can not understand that if he sees a women playing good music, like a great solo from her sax, it must be an illusion because women must be debased, or thought of as less. That is truly dangerous garbage. Many of my absolute favorite musicians are women. Right now I will just mention Barbara Dennerlein, Hiromi, Cindy Blackman, Senri Kawaguchi. They are much better than me, and they are female. I know this... Yours Truly, Danny Loi

Dude, chill. She’s trying to give women opportunities to succeed in an incredibly male-dominated genre of music. She’s not bashing men at all. I don’t understand why people can’t grasp that 95% of jazz musicians being men is a problem; and not just for women but for jazz as a whole.

Amen! As a female musician, I can't stand all this "gender equity" crap! Are you any good at playing? Great. I don't care what your gender is. Being a great musician has ZERO to do with gender, any more than it has to do with race. It has to do with talent, hard work and dedication. And yes, some people get luckier than others for one reason or another. That's life. Deal with it. I don't know why these musicians think just because they are great at music, they have some sort of elevated insight and can preach social agendas down to the rest of us like we can't think for ourselves...Just shut up and play your instrument! I don't want to know about your ideology. I don't like supporting these types of musicians.
