Again, it is sincerely refreshing to hear another skateboarder talk openly about their sobriety. Mental illness is a global epidemic, with alcohol being the self-medicator of choice for many. Respect Neal Mims and the Nine Club for advocating.
@DFunct9053 жыл бұрын
I think too many skaters (and a lot of others too) normalize drunkenness. Having some beer is one thing, but getting drunk multiple times a week isn’t anything to be proud of.

So hyped about this episode! One of my favorite skaters. I'm from Tallahassee. Skated with Caine and Neal a lot in '92/'93. Caine was dating my girlfriend's dorm room roommate. I remember thinking how much better Neal was than Caine because he was 360ing up onto Business Block at FSU. Caine was on Prime and because of my girlfriend's roommate, I got a few free boards... reminiscing...

Stoked to see this episode. Neal is a great dude. I met him while coaching for a high school skateboarding league called the OCSL(later became the NSSL) I was hoping they would have brought that up but they never touched on it. The league had some amazing kids, some of which went on to have skate careers(most notably Franky Villani). Glad to see Neal sobered up and is doing so well.
