I'm a young drummer (freshman in high school) and I love jazz, rock, and reggae. This has furthered my love for jazz. Truly a work of art and I look forward to seeing more from you.

So listenable with great ideas….I wonder if students should learn first playing brushes on the set;….thanks
@nealsausen46512 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your kind words! Actually you’re right people should learn to play everything with brushes that they would do with sticks in fact you should take a book like the buddy rich book or any good book on snare drum rudiments and practice them with brushes as well as sticks staying on the tips of the wires not the flat of the brush For jazz brushes, there are plenty of good books and videos out there that teach Brush playing as aplied to jazz Drumming

I'm afraid that heavy breathing might lead to somebody making a tribute video dedicated to you. Please take care of yourself. You are too young to leave us and you cant take those tubs with you when you go. Have you ever seen a luggage rack on a hearse?

Jason Schooler : I Thank youfor your concern! Just before this video was recorded I had done like a 25 to 30 minute solo just previous to this recording and was simply out of breath from playing such a long intense solo before this solo was recorded. This solo was done in 2013 it is now one day before 2020 kicks in and I’m still here in fact my blood pressure as of today December 30, 2019 And my blood pressurewas like 120/87 coincidentally about an hour ago I did a treadmill testAt the Cleveland clinic here in Ohio AKRON, and I checked out fine again thanks for your concern!

@@nealsausen4651 just looking out for a fellow drummer and human being. My comment was not drum based but after watching the video, the heavy breathing was concerning. I meant no disrespect to you, nor was I trying to embarrass you. I read your lengthy reply and appreciate you explaining the reason for the heavy breathing. Take care my friend!

Jason Schooler :No disrespect taken John. You’re a good guy, appreciate your concern and I wish you the best of luck in your drumming! Take care! Neal.
