I like that Neil basically interrupts Seth to then tell a story about Seth, as Seth, to Seth.

Kenan makes sketches hilarious with just a small smirk or smile… it’s a type of comedy genius that’s so rare. I’ve been following him since Nickelodeon. He’s had it from the beginning - a natural.

Kenan is the GOAT when it comes to SNL. He's the longest running cast member, he always delivers, and his ability to lift everyone else around him in sketches is ridiculously good. Yes, there have been greats, John Belushi, Chris Farley, Eddie Murphy, will Ferrell, but out of all of them, who has the most sketches, the most characters, and the only person I see replacing Lorne when he eventually dies at his desk after the 86th snl season IS Kenan Thompson.

I was at the filming of the Kenan and Kel bagging competition episode - easily one of the best episodes of that show. Kenan going from that to the longest tenured SNL cast member of all time (nobody touches his ongoing record since he just wants to do sketch comedy, it's not a stepping stone for him) has been a trip

 snl is more political given the current environment. I've never seen kids in the hall, but your description reminds me of old lonely island videos or bo Burnham vines. For example: Hot Rod. Produced and directed by the lonely island, starring most of the lonely island. They have a lot of those random cuts and completely impromptu lines, such as "I GO TO CHURCH EVERY GOD DAMN SUNDAY, YOU GONNA BRING THE DEMONS OUT OF ME?!" "I'VE BEEN DRINKING GREEN TEA ALL GOD DAMN DAY" and my personal favorite interaction: Rod, quietly, "you look pretty..." Denise, "what did you just say, Rod?" Rod, "I SAID YOU LOOK SHITTY, GOOD NIGHT DENISE!" *sprints away* Oh shit, can't forget the scene of will Arnett in the sports convertible hanging over the side shouting "BABE!" over and over again and they cut to the next scene in the middle of the word.

@@jkap34 " I've never seen kids in the hall, but your description reminds me of old lonely island videos or bo Burnham vines." Nothing like that. Literally...nothing like that. More reminiscent of SNL in the early 90s, in living color, or...maybe SCTV. Hot Rod is nothing like SNL and nothing like KITH...but it is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life. That and McGruber.

The biggest block here is Brennan continually cutting off his guests mid-thought. Neal cut Seth off at least 7 times right at a critical point.. Neal wants to hear himself talk. He says blocks but he wants to say something else

At first i thought it was an ego thing then i realized he had really bad adhd or possibly autism. Because he is responding to something the first says, they say something that triggered q memory or thought in neils head and he has to get it out. Ive seen this alot with neurodivergent people including myself but i try to hold on to the thought hard so i dont lose it by the time they are done talking.
@teresasavi8821

@@FFmaxxx to a certain degree, everyone feels this way. We all have to remain engaged enough to understand that the obvious trajectory of our conversation will involve whatever it is we are reminded of. Have a small pad to write one word that will prompt the memory and share once the natural course of the conversation allows. I dunno.. it works for Neal.

Martin short is the funniest person?? NFW. The two gentlemen pictured here are by far funnier than he has ever been. Martin short is nothing more than schtick.
