Near 100% consistent guide to Lunatic Chapter 2 Awakening . No Robin.

Been a while, hasn't it?
Today I'm tackling Chapter 2 of Awakening Lunatic Mode- it's a brick wall to a lot of people first trying this out and I thought we'd try for a strategy that also works while also explaining WHY it works, so that everyone can come up with their own for the future.

@@Hiiyapow Alright now I want a clarification. Chapter 12 was one of those "reset until rng works out" chapters for me, since my "strategy" should have worked usually with a few pair up hits with an Olivia x Chrom Dark Flier w/ rapier strat.

Just to be clear, I don't think C12 really ever warrants the water trick, I was more just doing a meme. But basically, if you have a flier capable of 2 range attacking, you can fly up to the water on the sides of the map and hide there out of range of all enemies. Then you can fly into 2 range, chip someone and then be rescued out by a falcon. If you're interested in seeing that done, Topaz's lunatic mode 0% growths run of the game does that (link is in the description). But yeah I would never do it in a normal run- C12 is probably the easiest map in the entire game for Vaike because the entire map is physical enemies, most of which whom he has WTA against- and this is the point in the game where he has Sol and Nos isn't readily available. He basically just chews through the entire map with a handaxe and very little effort. I usually just have Chrom pair into Cherche and then have the both of them hide on the water while Vaike/Sully rips the entire map to pieces.

This is such good timing - after like 5 playthroughs on Hard I started trying a Lunatic playthrough, and it sucks lol I will have to start over and try this strat. Edit: I had to restart for a better Fred and Chrom support, but it worked! You've got a sub.

Vaike Lunatic+ is fully routed and recorded and fully scripted. It's just the editing now that is taking years off my life. Currently the video is at the end of P1, which doesn't sound very far in, but I think that pre C8 is going to be somewhere around 75% of the video length (I currently have ~10 mins of explaining things in C3 for example) because of how much easier it gets after then and how much more of the game I have to show (that's what makes most of the editing so hard- having to highlight the key bits in chapters without cutting up the map too much. I'm really happy with what I have so far though). Currently the video is 30 mins long. I expect C5, 6, 7 and 8 will make up another half hour to 40 mins and then C8 to Endgame is maybe going to be another half hour again. (Hopefully, we'll see). My expected release date for it is some time in 2025.

I can confirm that sparkly tile weapons can be super broken. I got an Erika’s Blade early on in my first lunatic run (the weaker brave sword). Chrom, Stahl and Fred were playing hot potato with the thing to get kills on chapter 5 lol.

I’m using Vaike in my own Lunatic run and yeah he’s insane Like a forged hammer can one shot nearly every armor in the game with some pair up support, and because he has some really good supports getting strength or speed isn’t hard at all. Lon Qu gives more speed than Chrom at +5 compared to +4 and with A Rank he can go as high as +8 Spd. Panne is also equally as good for pair up as she also gives good speed but much more strength compared to Lon Qu. It’s insane how great he is as a carry. I gave him my Master Seal and he is as bulky as Fred, he’s truly the 🐐

Sully support is crazy as well. Gives a Str/Spd and Def so if you bring it to A rank, you get a load of important stats all in one. Won't let you double as much before promotion, but you can always use Lon'Qu/Panne to do that if you need to. I just love how much atk and bulk he has compared to everyone else. He starts 2 shotting stuff super early, especially with hammer (even at base with a sully supp, he has 21 atk, enough to 2 shot a lot of the C3 enemies). Like, base Stahl has 11 atk. Even with a +2 pairup and Stahl getting the c2 iron sword, Vaike still ends up leading 5 points of attack. Generally I like to follow the support path of Sully for C2-C4, Lon'Qu for P1 to C5, Chrom for C6, Lon'Qu/Panne for C7-C8, Sully for C9->C15/16, Falco Maribelle/Lissa for the rest of the game. Apart from Grima I guess. I usually just use assassin flavia because she has it at base, but A Panne works, as does Assassin Owain. Chrom can work too if you are really minus on speed and can't double Grima after a rally.

@@Hiiyapow I’m only on chapter 9 rn but Vaike has been consistent in his combat, I’m never wishing for more out of him, especially with his Lon Qu support being at A. Honestly I’m just doing paralogues to farm other supports for him and Robin since Lon Qu’s +5 speed is super useful on other units. I plan on probably marrying him off to Panne since he gives Yarne an insane amount of bulk and access to the Hero/Mercenary classes.

Do you have any videos that showcase some ways to feed kills to units in the early chapter I always struggle a lot triyng to figure out safe ways to do it

I don't have any specific ones at the moment, but there seems to be interest in looking at some future chapters and I can point out places where it's possible to do that. In reality, I think a lot of it comes down to just having more faith in your units. Most of the units you get at the start are actually somewhat decent and have a place where it's actively benefical to use them for some combat. The whole "everyone but Robin is trash" shtick has done a lot of damage to the reputation of units like Stahl, Sully, Miriel, Virion, Lon'Qu and Ricken. Ch3, for example, the main way you open up the map involves having Frederick charge into a group of enemies and weaken them. Basically anyone can grab that exp and you can then rinse and repeat for the other bottom group of enemies before heading to the top of the map. P1 is also a great training map. Lots of stationary enemies that you can bait-and-switch on provided you get through the first couple of turns which are the hardest. But yeah I will have to demonstrate it more at some point- it probably won't be a specific video, but will exist as a thing I mention and demonstrate in future videos, if that makes sense.

It looks more than likely that I will indeed be doing this. I don't know exactly what format I'm going to cover them in, but I do ideally want to eventually cover most of the game, especially everything post C8 because that's the awkward transition period and probably the bit people find most difficult.
