I meant to get this video out like 2 weeks ago but I procrastinated again oops. Fire Emblem is definitely one of my favorite series and I am currently still in the mood to play Fire Emblem a lot rn. Oh also my mic no longer sucks horrendously. I wanna throw up listening to my Yakuza 0 video the mic is so bad lmao. Also two sound effects appear later than I intended them to be but I'm not waiting another 5 hours to export just for something that probably only I care about. Hope you guys enjoy and I intend on making more Fire Emblem content hopefully.

@@vavadadeur150 Frederick is what we in the community call a "Jagen" unit. What that means is that he is a pre-promote unit you usually get at the start of the game that is incredibly powerful for the early chapters. Pre-promote means that he is already a promoted class (he starts as a Great Knight instead of someone like Sully/Stahl starting as just Cavaliers). Jagen units, or promoted units in general when the context is early chapters, gain very little experience from unit kills. this is because jagen units are already a high level relative to where they are deployed in the game. This is why you encounter people saying not to feed experience or kills to Frederick, as other units need them much more than an already pre-promoted unit. Hope this helped!

@@angelsonic999 Thanks for the comment! I appreciate the criticism and watching it again, yeah the music should’ve been quieter. It could’ve been generally lower but the volume is a bit inconsistent and I find my voice volume is also a bit inconsistent with volume which doesn’t help. I’ll do my best to fix that in the future!

9:20 Lucina doesn’t say that Chrom will be killed by that assasin, but that he will be injured, which would’ve caused Emmeryn to die early on without his aid. Lucina saving Chrom from the assassin attack also doubled as her attempt to prevent Emmeryns death from happening in the future, but alas it happens regardless because that’s just how trying to change the past works.

Yeah, someone else said this already but I think that makes sense. Lucina says "I'm about to save your life" to Chrom which still makes no sense to me but whatever. I can't actually find where Lucina says that it would only cause an injury but eh it doesn't really matter that much.

I am now 30 mins in the video and just realized you only had 113 subscribers. I was imagining at least 10k or more. Great work man, I´m looking forward to future videos. I´m also pretty adictied to awakening (again) and thinking of fun challenges to make hard mode a bit more challenging. My first and only lunatic playthrough was fun but also way to time consuming and stressfull. And I will stay away from lunatic # as long as I can :D PS: Btw great music choices. Dont speak her name is obviously great, but conquest somehow hits different (with nostalgia). This, Dwellings of the ancient gods and Road taken (calm) are probably my favorits of the series. Thanks for the comment! The subscriber count I had before this was actually around 30 which is just insane to me. I'm definitely up to make some more Fire Emblem content as it is definitely my favorite series of all time! It even includes my favorite game of all time as I've played some of these games to death despite me only starting this series 2 years ago. Some of these games due tend to struggle with making a hard mode that's not so easy and a extra hard mode that's not so terribly designed, like Awakening. But still ridiculous challenge can come with it's own masochistic kind of pleasure. I really love Fire Emblem music as well to the point I may have made it too loud in this video lol but I'll fix it in the future. Among us jokes will live on!!!1!

@@pinkmellyy Yeah, I really want to play an iron man run in fire emblem, since I feel like that’s now fire emblem was intended to play. But I struggle to find a game+difficulty that isn’t unfair but challenging at the same time. I now started an awakening run on hard mode without grinding, without pair up and randomising the team I take for every chapter. Let’s see if this will be a challenge or still rather simple. I haven’t played Engage or Echoes yet and never finished fates. Are the difficulties better in those games? I like maddening in 3 houses, but without the Devine pulse it feels way too unfair. Btw what’s your favorit fe game?

@@joshi5944 Yeah that’s totally valid. I feel like a lot of FE games struggle with making harder modes feel fair. Out of the games I’ve played Fates Conquest and Engage (specifically on Maddening) are amazing challenges that test you without doing stupid things like ambush spawns. And they’re both pretty reasonable to iron man (you just have to build a plan for the endgame of conquest from the start). Echoes doesn’t have that good difficulty imo but there’s no infuriating hard mode so there’s that at least. Fates Birthright is easy even on lunatic and Revelation meets BR and Conquest in between but is somewhat unbalanced although I have fun because of that. My favorite games so far are Fates Conquest and Engage because I love difficulty done right in this series lol. I’ve heard good things about the DS games difficulty wise too!

@@shabrangong That’s fair. I really do wish there was a difficulty between hard and lunatic cause I just don’t think I’d find lunatic and especially lunatic+ very fun. Some chapters in hard without grinding are actually somewhat challenging but more so that you have to dodge some low hit chances. I vastly prefer other Fire Emblem difficulties as they are much closer and much better balanced in my opinion.

24:16 Actually, that *is* partly your fault- Awakening (and Fates too I thiiink) decides the kid's stats from parts of their parent's stats (Dad + Mom + Kid/3). Since Sumia has not seen a single drop of EXP in her time with the Shepherds, she has nothing to provide to her daughters. If you wanted a strong Lucina in this challenge (while keeping RobinXOlivia) then you'd want to pair Sully with Chrom since she can AT LEAST get some Dual Strike EXP in. *(It'd also be nice because there's little to no reason to ever do this pairing, at least the Maiden is funny)* I've done the ChromXOlivia pairing in Lunatic before by grinding Olivia to max level on her join chapter through dancing and then promoting her to Dark Flier (cuz Galeforce) and the result was a shockingly strong Lucina for a Level 10, letting me use her for a few Lunatic maps without having to baby her. Meanwhile when I recruited Morgan with parents who had reclassed numerous times, she was at her stat caps, with a whopping... 25 strength lmao. It's Awakening so you're expected to backpack, but it's got some drawbacks not everybody thinks of.

WHAT. I knew that parents stats were at least partial for it but that formula if true is just ridiculous. Would explain why I've only had success with child units when they had Robin as a parent cause at least then Robin would always have insane stats. But that honestly makes me question child units even more because if you have to use the parents a lot, they're probably already good and you wouldn't need ANOTHER good unit. Plus that'd be like at the end of the game. Nice for post game but I never engage with that so...

@ yeah it’s pretty agreed upon that the kids in Awakening stink if you’re not going to farm EXP, and it doesn’t help that in Classic you’ll probably lose their parent before they can replace them LOL. Thank goodness Fates adding Offspring Seals and Chapter scaling, otherwise you’d likely NEVER use child units in Conquest

@ Yeah, although I have problems with the way some kids are handled in Fates too. They can either only be a hyper carry (Percy, Ophelia), only be a support unit (Every child that can get rallies, staff bots) or are just plain bad no matter what (Midori, Ignatius, Kana). There’s not really one you can just slot in as another combat unit unfortunately.

@@ghable23 Tbh it’s probably possible I just don’t want to. The reason I did this run was to have some fun making this game a tad bit harder and making me have to reset for hours on early chapters isn’t something I think would be fun. Another thing is I wasn’t worried about how hard the game is after the point you even get the levin sword. After that Robin is likely to already have snowballed and is able to beat the rest of the game no matter what you do it’s more so the early chapters when your options are limited. Armthrift goes along with the idea that I don’t want to reset just because I have to. While it is possible to get 100% activation on it once again that’d be very late game and that’s not where I think the problems are.

@@pinkmellyy I get it. I don't get it that you don't put effort into the hard part that's the early game as you said. That's how most challenges work on this game. You reset a lot early on and then breeze through. The only reason I have to play it is for the early game so resetting is expected. Anyway, for a challenge here that's not entirely like that you may need to do no second seals or something, which forces Robin into a support unit more than combat later in the game.

I felt like I put enough effort in a few hours attempting if it was possible and I just didn’t feel like it was without getting supremely lucky with a like 90% hit dodge (especially with how true hit works) and I just wanted to have fun playing the game. Honestly not reclassing Robin sounds interesting but it’s more like you’re bringing him down to everyone else’s level rather than just making everyone else good which I don’t really like that much. It may even be worse as you might have to just put all of the stat boosters into Robin anyways just to remain competitive. I just wanted a fun revisit to this game and I just don’t really like the whole “extreme difficulty at the start and then everything else is baby easy” mode that some games do.

@@pinkmellyy I finally tried it. It took 2-3h to beat the first two maps. Robin barely got any experience so I'll probably continue until then. Chrom got speed level ups. You had to bait in and out the mage on the second group of enemies with Robin+Lissa on the right side to avoid fighting him. I couldn't get the boss kill with Robin because I got my first dual strike there. The boss has crit.

Citra (the emulator). It got taken down a bit ago but there’s probably some replacement in the works or maybe out idk. I also use the HD texture pack mod. If you can, you can get the rom off of your 3DS if it’s hacked I believe or find some website that has it.

@@corvosweet-moon8629 Honestly, yeah. I have no idea what my thought process was when doing it but my guess is that I knew swords were already extremely accurate so more skill wasn’t necessary. Either way each bane is only a 10% growth drop with a 5% drop in something else. It doesn’t really matter either way looking at them up close because growths are so high in Awakening. I did end up using the levin sword at the end with Robin but I think even if I dropped magic it still would’ve done some work.

@@corvosweet-moon8629 That’s fair. I haven’t really messed with crit builds in any Fire Emblem games just because I like consistency tbh. But I imagine they can be pretty fun.

Yeah. I thought I was going crazy with how many people praise the children units. Lucina in particular. But they are so terrible and you get them during the Valm arc where the same turn reinforcements are the most annoying in the series. So you can't even level them up comfortably.

@@Pm3m_Dia I think it mostly comes down to how you play the game. People that got into the series with Awakening probably just grinded out whoever they wanted on normal and/or casual mode where you are absolutely not punished at all for doing. But if you’re not doing a bunch of paralogues or skirmishes most of them just aren’t worth it unless the paralogue is specifically easy or if they have some unique or good attribute like Morgan getting 50% more xp like Robin.

@@pinkmellyy I like to get Donnel's personal skill on Nah, cuz then it's a manakete with Donnel's growth, which can get Armsthrift if you grind for a bit.

@@fen6300 Oh yeah. That’s something I totally forgot about. Children definitely have way more availability for skills and classes which is pretty neat. For normal playthroughs of this game I still don’t think they’re worth it especially for the harder paralogues but you can easily still make anyone good in Awakening with enough time. The game gives you a lot of tools and you can really go ham with them!

How ironic that the DLC is better without using the DLC. It’s funny cause Awakening is the one game with modern DLC that I haven’t bothered with.
