It definitely is a fantastic game. I started playing character mode and it's a blast. There is plenty you can do without laying down tents though.

She lost because she lost turn when she was full on hearts and lost the fight by one. I was yelling at the monitor one more turn would have been at least 5 points. :P

At 14:35, you state that you have to decide whether or not you're going to replace your existing treasure card before you draw a new one. That's not true, it just comes from some clunky wording in the rule book. You can draw and then decide which cards you're going to keep from the full set.

Yikes! Now you are making me think I need this game as well.! You both seemed to really enjoy Islebound is a earlier video. How does this one compare. Which is easier to teach new players? Which has the best draw to want you to come back for another game and which do you prefer?

haha, you might very well need this one! Not sure if you have played Above and Below, but Near and Far is a storytelling game and mechanically different from Islebound. Our nod goes to Near and Far, though we thoroughly enjoy both. This one has such high replayability because you can vary the experience so much, and we like how deeply you can sink into the characters and story of the game over several plays. For that reason alone it has made it to the table more (and will likely continue to do so). As far as learnability goes, we didn't find one to be more complex to teach.
