My wife introduced me to this one,I always knew about it but was never interested in watching it as i wasn’t a big vampire fan..she bought me the plain old DVD last year but after watching this i showed her this gorgeous German media book and she surprised me again by getting me that just before i typed this. It’s such a fantastic movie that I’m glad she got me to watch it

As a completionist, I’m glad you got to finish this, even if a year later! I went to see this on my birthday back in ‘87 which makes it even more memorable. I think Paxton’s performance in one of his best and so underrated!!

Love when Sean reenacts scenes, I really enjoyed him doing his version of the ice cream cone scene, hilarious! I laughed out loud.😆 I also like his enthusiasm, it makes the videos even more enjoyable. Plus, the inserting of the scenes from the movie is very professional and allows the viewer to compare the what things looked like as compared to now. Keep up the great work, Sean!

Sean. thank you for this video about the filming locations of Near Dark. I adore this movie, especially because I was born in August of 1987. This movie is not easy to buy on either Blu-ray/ or even DVD. I wound up paying $200 for a Region-B copy to add up my collection. I wish a well known distributor would release the movie in the states. Thanks again for your hard work on movie locations.

Sean, I saw your live chat earlier about picking up an item from Ozzy’s Ultimate Sin Tour in 1986. I can only respond to your latest comment I sent you about Near Dark. I’m curious, do you have Ozzy Osbourne: The Ultimate Ozzy? The concert was pro-filmed on 04/01/1986 at the Kemper Arena in Kansas City, MO. This is an interesting date, because my favorite band Metallica opened for Ozzy. As the tour progressed I’ve read that more people went to see ‘tallica than Ozzy, which upset Ozzy and his management. The DVD of this concert is only available as a Region-2 DVD, but I highly recommend.

TBF Tim Thomerson was the biggest name in the movie at the time, I remember him in the 1970s on Mork & Mindy, Laverne & Shirley, he was in Car Wash that also had George Carlin and Richard Pryor, that was 1976, I actually saw that movie in theatres after seeing Star Wars for about the 4th time. Sh!t, now I have The Pointer Sisters in my head. He was also Dollman, a 6 inch tall private eye, there were sequels too.

Love this video Sean! I may be wrong but I think one of the motels is probably the Sierra Polona on the Sierra Hwy in Agua Dulce. The shutters and bushes look incredibly similar.
