Interesting interaction, you can choose who and what to proliferate, but you must proliferate all types of counters on those permanents/players.

24:27 When you proliferate, you have to proliferate all of the counters on the chosen permanents or players, not just some of them, so for DSchultz to proliferate his experience counters, he had to also proliferate his poison counters. Also, it would proliferate Airball's experience counters too.

It's a may or choose effect. 701.27a To proliferate means to choose any number of permanents and/or players that have a counter, then give each one additional counter of each kind that permanent or player already has. *Edit* Boy I didn't understand the original comment, I'm with you now. It's a may and choose on targets but both poison and experience are on the player and should have been proliferated. Nice catch!

@@SchulzCubed Was confused about this for awhile in my own pod, our understanding is while you MAY choose the permanent or player, you cannot choose which counters on that permanent / player to proliferate. So if a creature had a +1/+1 AND a -1/-1 counter, choosing to proliferate it would leave it with two +1/+1 and two -1/-1. Can't seem to nitpick which counter you are proliferating.

@@NezNine Pretty much! Although +1/+1 counters and -1/-1 counters cancel each other out. If a creature has a +1/+1 counter and a slime counter and an indestructible counter then if you proliferate then you get 2 of each.

I think it's less a question of the ability being blocked, and more a question of the +2/+2 from the sword taking Bloated Contaminator out of the 4 damage range from Eiganjo
