Exactly. Simple experiment: use play/pause button in the center of the screen as rough reference for the center of screen. Whenever horizon crosses it, pause video and observe if the line is straight or curved. No big deal, just use of common sense.

Well let's think... If it's launched at night, would you be able to see the sun, the differentiation in the atmospheres , and the clouds, along with the continents and water? No.... That's why it's launched in the day. If it was at night, you'd be basically wasting a balloon and helium, you'd get nothing but blackness.

This looks to be simply wide angle, not fisheye. It produces distortion but not quite as bad as fisheye. too many things to ask you: 1) what was the size of baloon and what gas did you use ( hellium or Hydrogen) 2) was the communication between the baloon and the app on your cellphone stable . How were they communicating ( i am assuming with cellphone signals) 3) did you use portable charger onbord to charge your GoPro 4) how did you recover your GoPro if it landed far far away from you. Were you able to tell where it landed exactly using your GPS tracker 5) last question but very important: Do you need to get permission from the authorities before you do this. The baloon can interfere with airplanes pathes. Thank you in advance.
@sivrot8 жыл бұрын
yaya2006 i used a 600g balloon with helium. we only had communication with the balloon when it had cell coverage (under 3000 meters with the gps tracker). we logged however the intire flight with a cellphone, thats why we got the altitude and position. yes we used a portable charger, so it had 100% battery even when we found it. we got excact locations where the balloon was anytime when it was under 3000 meters. we called the number to the sim inside the gps tracker, and got coordinates with a link to google maps as a response. i think you need permission ig you're gonna do it "by the book". but where i live its not much airplane traffic overhead. and even though the chance of it hitting was miniscule, we kept an eye on the app "flightradar 24 pro". we did this to make sure we wouldnt launch if there for some reason was more traffic than usual overhead. sorry for not responding before now! didnt see your comment until today. :)

What I would love to see is someone in an airplane with a powerful telescope use it to zoom as far out as they can and see what they see... I think that would prove a lot of things as well as probably raise more questions, but still would be interesting....

There is 1 video of a guy between Sun and Moon. I also like the Highest Man Made Rocket video. It suddenly hits "something" (Firmament), stops spinning and falls. Interesting note: The RedBull "Space Fall" is barely higher than this Rocket distance.

Camera always point right (not down or up). At this altitude we would see only blank space, but horizon is still there. On round earth this is impossible. It's so simple to understand. You can even test it in some 3D program to see how it will looks like if earth is round. Only if camera looks down than we would see horizon.

Bro, just calculate the distance travelled by baloon divided by the diameter of the earth. U will get a better idea. So basically the baloon is just 0.001% above the earth. The atmosphere above the earth, is almost equivalent to the dust on an old ball of tennis!

The nice thing with fish-eye lenses is that a straight line in the middle of the screen stays straight, the deformation only occurs in the corners. And just before the balloon bursts, the image is perfect to prove the earth is round.

The horizon is curved. At 5:44, the horizon is in the center of the frame, which is where there is minimal distortion from the lens, and it is curved. I'm not a flat Earther, but on a flat Earth, the horizon would also look curved. The fact that many flat Earthers think that the horizon should look flat on a flat Earth just shows how many of them don't even know what they are talking about.

Use your eyes. The video clearly uses a fish eye lens. Fisheye distortion makes an object appear convex above the centerpoint, and concave below it. If a straight line is at the centerpoint, it will remain straight. If the top of a curved line is at the centerpoint, it remains curved. The horizon remains convex at the centerpoint. It's still a sphere.

Sincere question: If you were able to launch then retrieve it 3+ hrs later in close approximate to where it rose from, how is it not approx 3,000 mi away if the earth is rotating at approx 1,000 mi pr hr? I do NOT care about earth shape so plz don’t focus on that. I’m just trying to understand how it came back in close approximation. 6-25-21. Thx. D
