They are most likely going to port Super Mario 3D world to the switch, hence why they removed them.

To be honest I can see why they fall below Nintendo's quality threshold. The cake one is pretty enjoyable to look at, but the gameplay is kind of dull, lots of waiting around, very little thinking required. The flip-switch stage is very basic too with no real payoff or progression to it, just "here's flipswitches, here's slightly harder flipswitches, done". The cave one is probably the most high quality, but admittedly there is a certain something about it that makes it feel incomplete to me. I recall similar cave stages in the final game so maybe they just felt those ones were better and provided enough of such theming. I'm certainly not keen on the water just randomly rising when Toad falls on the raft, feels like a kind of cheap ending to the whole "find your way to the other side of this tiny fence the hard way" shtick.

@@Rosie_Cozy To complex or too complex? Nah, it would actually be easy, since the levels seem to be build on a grid, similar to how the Pokémon and Animal Crossing overworlds work, but even simpler. They also already have all the assets, obkects and a professional tool to create levels their own. Limiting levels to a simple artstyle, that is seen on some one coloured objects and converting the professional tools into a user-friendly interface (similar to Portal 2), should relatively easy. They could also make it a second DLC; even if more expensive than the first one, it would be an instand-buy for a lot of people. The online-sharing system would be more complicated, but they could base it on Super Mario Maker 2 or even link those two games, so that you have only have access to the Builder-mode, when you have SMM2 (instead of paying for DLC, of course)

It's intentionally similar to Super Mario 3D World. It is the game's prequel after all. Super Mario 3D World is now on Nintendo Switch, with the cursor from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and the Toad Brigade added in multiplayer, excluding Purple Toad and Toadette.
