Nice to see you looking more relaxed and less tired Tom. You've had a huge amount on your plate this year and we've seen the stress take your natural exuberance down a few notches. Be kind and be proud of yourself, you've achieved so much. 💜

Were you saying you think your Dad has gout? Sometimes when you are talking fast, coupled with the accent, I don't get it all. lol I love how happy it makes you to take good care of your cows. I've said it before that on large, corporate owned dairy farms here in the USA, the cows never see the sun as far as I can tell. They are inside all the time. What would be pasture is planted with corn and the corn is chopped with the stalks and that is fed to the cows. It's enough to make me stop drinking milk! Can't wait to see you when your baby is born...that will be a happy you won't believe!! Thanks for the Sunday videos!

Yay, 'and sometimes we do the Sunday video' 😀 Really appreciate all the time and effort you put into your videos showing just what a real diary farmer does on a day to day basis, from the cows to the building projects. I'm nothing even close to a farmer but what you guys do is amazing. Oh and that clamp looked the best that anyone has ever seen 😂

Hi Tom, I think the 'ginger guy' will be quite happy with your decision to clamp some silage. Considering it happening during a crazy time for you and now it's just about perfect. I don't think I have seen you so happy for along time. The pressure of the last couple of years with continuous demolition and building of new sheds has taken it toll. Soon it will all be worth it and there is the new addition to your family to enjoy. Luke is a good right hand man and helping out alot now. He takes pressure off your dad doing chores and he can now have another holiday. Thanks for sharing. Chris from Australia 🇦🇺.

Have tried the oxy sheet for the first time this year, only put it on after 4th cut. It's not expensive. Side sheets would make such a difference for you. Good to see you reaping the benefits of cut it quick and get it in quick 😉 every day's a school day, same on the 3rd cut 👍if you nail this cut "the ginger" will have to start asking you for advice on silage making 😮if he's heading north tell him to pop in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So glad for your beautiful, sunny weather! I've seen those (?silage) piles over here in the U.S. covered with tires. Never knew what they were. 😮 See? I'm learning stuff. Eric, from '10th Generation Dairyman' in Pennsylvania, US, uses only the sidewalls of tyres on his clamps, or bunkers I think they call them there. Not sure how they're cut from the tread part, but they do seem easier to handle and stack well on pallets when taken off.

The pallets looked risky in regards holes but it turned out well. Best tyres have holes in them to prevent them being used but also if placed/stacked right shed water avoiding the horror of tyre water. There was always some splash back though! Lorry tyres are hard work, numb etc. can be easier on the lower part of the ramp though.
