Thanks for adding more books to my want list..lol. I love that the first book you chose was 100 Bullets. It's one of my favourites of all time. I always felt they could have continued 100 Bullets in a secondary title that focused on the individual stories like in the early stages of the series with flashbacks to people/events of the bigger story. A number of titles you mentioned are on my reading list already, although I would have chosen Deadly Class instead of Fear Agent just because I grew up an 80's kid and can relate. But that's just my preference. Don't even get me excited about Fables. If I could I'd be out looking to buy the hardcovers right now if I could afford them. A great list and I can't wait to see your next ten list!

Lloyd, it's what I do. BTW Books are shipping out Friday. :) There was a story after the 100th issue a collection of the Brother Lono miniseries. But I would love a continuation of the main series. This list was hard to put together. Mainly because of things like you mentioned. I'm a child of the 80s and Deadly Class is a mix of Game of Thrones meets Naruto meets Harry Potter, but Fear Agent just spoke to me more. Thank you for watching, brother.

My man! 1. First off, I LOVE that you started with "100 Bullets"! One of my favorite graphic novel series of all time! Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso to me are on par with classic teams such as Brubaker and Phillips or Loeb and Sale or O'Neil and Adams. Totally agree with you about the artwork. It's extremely cinematic. (Though, I think that it would make a better TV series.) 2. I love "Usagi Yojimbo". When I first saw the TMNT cameo in the book, I thought I would be taken out of it, but it actually worked! 3. I enjoy "Preacher", though if I had choose a Garth Ennis book, I would have chosen "Hitman". (That would however, break your rule of NON-superhero books) 4. I totally agree with you about Grant Morrison writing very pretentiously at times! (Totally with you on how confusing "Final Crisis" was! I was so disappointed, too, because I was so looking forward to read a DC Universe Crisis event from the beginning, but "Final Crisis" was incomprehensible.) 5. "Maus": As someone who lived in Germany and actually visited concentration camps, I would say that this is a book that should be REQUIRED reading in schools. 6. "Fables": I have yet to read this series, but I was curious: The original stories for classic fairy tales are actually pretty dark, often graphically violent...is the series more an adaptation of the original stories, as opposed to the "Disneyfied" versions? Awesome show, brother!

Descender was good I enjoy it as a serious but I don't think it's one of Jeff lemire's best and I do agree with you there I I do have a feeling for Jeff Lemire as well For me personally Jeff of mirror is like tide right now for me like the top five writers right now they're really good in our on their game right now. But I feel a little different about your feelings about his art style I really enjoyed I think it's really good I mean the way he handles a panel when he's drawing it because he knows when he's drawing and running at the same time he knows how they should all mesh together I mean yeah I do agree it can be hard to look at his artwork at sometimes but I think it is actually really good work he's doing something that most people can't do when he draws. And it's very rare we have someone that can write and draw at the same time so I'm personally I'm not going to knock him for that because that's that's double Talent it right there if you can write the story that's great but if you can also draw at the same time that's even better like he's his own cameraman director everything.

When people think of Superhero comics they think of the big two DC and Marvel. Characters bigger than life and with superpowers. Uncle Scrooge, Strangers in Paradise, Usagi Yojimbo and Y the Last Man for example never feature a super hero. I can see the confusion when I cheated a little bit with Sandman though.

I can really appreciate Spiegelman's efforts. Proving to the western crowd that comic books are a genuine art form back when most people thought they were childish and not worth any adult's attention. I do find the visual storytelling of Maus to be more powerful than any Holocaust novel I've read at school and I DO wish Maus was part of that curriculum. Why IS the medium of comics considered more childish than novels anyway? Because they have visuals? With that logic, are classical paintings and statues childish, too? Thankfully, this flawed logic is slowly disappearing.

But I defently enjoy my other graphic novels that are not super hero related..... Kind of wish there were more horror graphic novels though besides junji ito's work. You say you dont like things being spoiled but you literally just spoiled why the Saint of Killers does what he does. Im almost done with volume 2 and it has not been revealed yet… im sure its not that big a deal but still kinda sucks

I don't, but keep in mind that this video was made over three years ago, before I was more careful. These days I would give a spoiler ahead of time. While not a big one, I still think It would work better not knowing anything about the character.

I started Reading Usagi when it came out in the 80’s. Got away from comic for 10-12 years. Found comics in 2005-06 again and there was Usagi 😊
