Wow.. just learned this used to work perfectly on Roku 3 (and others) but not anymore, it is their effort to get Roku users to buy newer models. I've also have paid for games from the Roku store that are no longer available so now I just out the money but without said games. I've been looking to add a couple streaming devices and had planned on buying Roku but due to the above statements, not a single penny of mine will ever be spent on Roku again. This though is a great video and thanks for posting it even though I can never take advantage of it. Firestick has built-in BT so that is now the choice.

Well, toots. The bluetooth speaker will only put out medium sound - not loud enough for eatin' peanuts while watching. (Since that's the be-all of watching.) Twiddling the volume on the bluetooth speaker and on the TV doesn't change this. That's my current scene, anyway.

This is great! Only problem for me is it is not only choppy, it is SUPER choppy, and lip sync gets pretty laggy. I'm wondering if that will vary under different computers, or at different times? Or if i can do anything to prevent that?

Figured this out for the Roku tv I just got, but any HDMI out won't work with it. It only works with a Roku HDMI attachment device. Still though, I wish I would have knew this a long time ago because I would have been using Roku to cast lol.

I tried this 2 years ago when I first bought a 55" TCL Roku TV. There is an unbearable lag/delay with the bluetooth sound. It was like watching a karate movie. tried 4 different phones. Also, swapped out my router. Couldn't deal with it anymore. Other than that, I love the Roku TVs. I just got a ^%" Sharp Roku TV a few months back, so I'm gonna give it another go, since no one here seems to be complaining about bluetooth lag/delay.

Love this trick Antwon! I hit a roadblock and hoping you or anyone who may know, can help me out. This is a long comment, sorry....I’m having trouble finding g/getting to the Bluetooth button on the app though. have the Roku fire stick (?) model 3810X and an iPhone X. Hopefully this model allows for Bluetooth pairing? I saw you X out a screen then swipe down to another page on the app and the Bluetooth icon appeared at the top. I can’t seem to get to wherever that is or find it. I love a great hack and hope my equipment is compatible! Trying to pair to my LG soundbar that has a wireless subwoofer. Also have a jbl wireless speaker but really want to connect to the soundbar. Any ideas? Thank you!! To further complicate things, I have an older model Samsung tv (that only has one hdmi port currently in use with the cable box. The lg soundbar is connected via the optical digital port from the cable box to the soundbar. I have an hdmi splitter with 3 ports- one for cable box, one for roku. Only one port can be used at a time. That is why the soundbar isn’t connected when the roku is in use... it’s setup to the cable in/output... Hence, trying to find a different way to connect the roku device to my new soundbar. Bluetooth would work if I could find that button on the app! FUN TIMES!!!
