Exactly. I really dislike when storm chasers go so close they are getting hit with debris. These guys get excellent footage but there is absolutely no need to get that close. It makes me not want to watch their otherwise excellent videos. Makes me feel sick with worry. When they were "too close" to get the whole thing in the frame, yeah, way too close. That would be a good time to back up. We have seen many tornadoes change direction suddenly, or put another funnel down right behind storm chasers. Never forget Tim Samaras. He was actually quite careful. In the end it wasnt enough. Don't get too complacent. There are telephoto lenses for a reason. Your footage is just as good when you are a safer distance away as when you get into the edges of it. Great footage, but I almost clicked off in those couple of spots you got too close. Otherwise, some incredible footage here.

@@gamethatplaysyou Common sense you say, huh? Think about what @jenniferbell4571 is saying, a barn filled with livestock animals. Just because they didn't show the emotions YOU think they should at that exact moment or even what they chose to show in this 6 minute video of an hour plus long journey, doesn't mean they don't care at all. This video isn't about them and how they feel, it's a video about the tornado. Some of the most calm and calculated storm chasers are also the most empathetic and helpful, they'll be the first to jump in and help. But according to y'all, that means absolutely nothing if they don't say or post the right thing in an adrenaline filled moment. It's always people who have never been through anything close that pass judgement and that's much crueler than anything I witnessed in the video.

You realize that two things can be true at the same time, right? It can be terrifying and beautiful. It can be tragic and beautiful. The same thing applies in a lot of contexts, such as in my field which is crime scene investigation. A case can be absolutely tragic and heartbreaking, but at the same time be very exciting and interesting from a scientific standpoint. One doesn't exclude the other.

@@supernicko123 Do you video tape and post your crime scenes online for all to see? Maybe the family of the dead person can see?

How I’m just now finding your channel is beyond me. Great footage and no screaming repetitive observations. Sub’d.

The fact that you haven't been hospitalized or killed trying to film one of these is amazing. Takes some real guts to film this stuff and want to go back the next storm and do it again.

You misspelled stupidity

@@RedboneUnincorporated They're not all stupid. The level of danger varies wildly based on the tornado's behavior. It can be much safer to get close to a tornado than normal if you stay away from the ghost train/inflow bands and know the tornado is clearly moving away from you, and you have an escape route planned in case the situation changes.

Not sure "guts" is the word you're looking for here - perhaps "fatal obliviousness" is more like it. Tornados can go 300MPH and change directions on a whim. Sure, they mostly don't but if any of the storms on the video did that, let's just say they wouldn't be around to upload the video. If I know that and the closest tornado to me is thousands of miles away, storm chasers that were **literally inside** of a forming vortex just two days ago should **definitely** know better!

At the 4:35 mark -> you folks were actually in the outer wind fields of the tornadic circulation. It was this same phenomenon that killed Tim Samaris and his team at the El Reno storm in 2013, when a satellite tornado of the muti-vortex tornado swept their car off the road. Do be careful, but at the same time, amazing shots.
@williamsstephens6 ай бұрын
The satellites looked like a carousel at that point. That + its speed + the abrupt turn north + Tim's underpowered rental car killed them.
