When we beat a ranked team, we can start asking for respect

The rankings are spot on. Look at the job Satterfield is doing. This is the largest reason. Look at everyone we have played so far, and notice what NU Scored. Now, look at everyone else who played these same teams, and look at how much those offenses scored. MUCH MORE. This goes for yards as well. People do not see NUs' offense as a threat. They don't see Satterfield as a general. It's this simple.

What has been holding Nebraska back so far is their Offensive Line.They do not black for Raolia enough.He is a good quarterback,but it is hard to throw on the run.

You’re smoking something dude. The offensive line does good this year with pass protection. They are actually hurting with their run blocking. Dylan has been sacked 12 times over 5 games. Sanders has already been sacked 23 times over 6 games

Defense did their job against Rutgers. Wisconsin played them 1 week after Nebraska, which was a very physical test for Rutgers. Wisconsin also did not play them in the same wind conditions that impacted the game in the same way. These things are not apples to apples.

I agree. I feel DR is looking to break out. But not given the green light. I know he’s a freshman but somewhere along the line you gotta trust him and open up the playbook. He’s a confident QB and is looking to shine. GBR

The way the Huskers played in 90 heat shows they are physically prepared to play strong teams. Mentally prepared mostly depends play calling which comes from the sidelines.

We're in the top 10 but not the top 5, defense maybe, but offense looks lost and special teams are the worst in the big ten.

The wind and heat during the Rutgers games was really bad. Not easy to pass the football in those conditions.

Thank you Wilson for your excellent analysis. I think we are going to see what type of team we really are against Indiana. We haven’t really been clicking on all cylinders the entire year. If we come out and dominate like we did against Colorado, I will be much more encouraged with a 9-3 or 10-2 season. If we are flat and end up losing, I am thinking we will be fortunate to get to 6-6 or 7-5

I don’t think Nebraska playbook has been open and a lot has been held back for these last tuff games so look for more scoring from the Cornhuskers during the rest of the season .

When a team is uncertain about how they stack up and find they are competitive the coaches will see that before the players. That just might open the play book. That is sports in general and not limited to college football.

Power ranking should be 1. Oregon 2. Ohio state 3. Penn state 4. Indiana 5. Illinois 6. Michigan 7. Iowa 8. Nebraska 9. Wisconsin 10. Washington 11. Rutgers 12. Minn Pretty debatable after that. Only put Iowa over Nebraska due to their record last year and making one of the championship games. I understand how a team has been performing in the recent past influences lists like these. That’s why USC is still in the top five instead of at the bottom.

There is truth in the idea that it is tough to play back to back big 10 games after the first game is a very physical team. The lines get beat down, and Nebraska is one of those very physical teams. Us playing Ohio State will be a test as they get a bye while we are playing Indiana. But I do believe we are more physical than Indiana, so hopefully it’ll be more of a warm up week. But they still are a team with decently stout lines and will be giving it all they have.

Then Iowa gets a bye week and Maryland before Nebraska while we play Wisconsin and USC. Big line freshness advantage to Iowa.

I'd say we're about 6 or 7. 1. Ohio state 2. Oregon 3. Penn state 4. USC 5. Indiana 6. Illinois 7. Nebraska That's my list to where Nebraska falls. Iowa and Wisconsin are both coming together and we might fall to them too.

You do realize USC lost to Minnesota right? You do realize they are 1-3 in conference play, ya? Makes no sense to keep them this high when the 1 team they played that you have above them(Penn St) beat them and their other 2 conference losses are nowhere to be found on your top 7.

@gbrhuskers4731 yup I realize all of that. I don't care, I don't overreact. They also went to LSU and won. I don't think any other team under them has a better win. They are adjusting to a completely new conference while the teams already there are adjusting to just 1 or 2 new schemes. It's way harder on usc to adjust to 8 new teams. They are 3 plays away from being undefeated. Vanderbilt beat Bama but I don't see anyone saying vandy is one of the best. Every team has a stinker game. Not all losses are treated equally.

Bama also has an undisputed TOP 3 roster in the country and had no business losing to Vandy, yet these are signs that it's not Sabans Bama anymore despite the elite roster. Not sure I understand your comment on 'noone is stating Vandy is the best' obviously they are not but I also didnt say the teams that beat USC are the best. Quite the opposite actually, they have losses to 2 mediocre teams and 1 team that is consistently good,not great, with a very strong roster but doesn't accomplish much in the big picture(Penn St). Also, USC does not have Bamas roster, is a 3 loss team half way through the year, and does not command the same respect. USC has not gotten stronger as the season progresses in recent history. Not including USC in the top 8 is not an overreaction. You are giving the brand credit, not the team. The LSU win was nice but that's an out of conference opener. LSU would actually be favored if they played again. Top 4 is WAY too high. And just to be clear, I don't mind your ranking, it's pretty close to what I'd have, minus USC being in the top 8.

If you say lsu would be favored in a second round you're probably right, but if you think that if usc and Minnesota played a 2nd time then usc would be favored so that's not really an argument. Yes, bamas roster is better, that's why I brought it up. Even with a better roster they lost to the dumpster fire that is vandy so it can happen to literally anyone. Don't care about the new coach piece either, the talent is still there and the new coach was just in the natty. Everyone has their opinion so no one is right or wrong, but I don't do the whole well your undefeated so your the best kind of power rankings. I do the eye test. When I watch usc they are very young, still a pretty new HC and all the makings to be great. Now they need to put together all in one game but the talent is there. Yes, the results do matter, just it's not all that matters. When I watch that extremely young team I see a lot of potential and I think the 2nd half of the season will show that. Power rankings aren't always about what you've done, it's about what you can do. Just my assessment

You are saying out of Indiana (who has beat nobody) Iowa (who barely beat us last year when we had zero offense) Wisconsin (who doesn’t look even as good as Nebraska) USC (trash) UCLA (trash) we only can win two max? There are only 3 teams in the Big10 that would qualify for that. OSU, ORE, and PSU. Other than that, you could make an excuse to why every other team isn't that great. Outside the top 3, the next 10 teams could all be coin flips on any given day.

@@ChosenPlaysYT USC is 1-3 in big10 play, Indianas 3 big10 opponents are a combined 1-9, Michigan and Iowa neither has a qb and definitely can't compete with the top 3. Like I said, outside of the top 3, the middle of the big10 is a crap shoot.
