Randy Meisner, former founding member of The Eagles, is from Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He wrote the song “Take It to the Limit”. If you have never heard that song, you should give it a listen. Randy’s voice is amazing!! Edit…..It would be nice if the people of Scottsbluff had a plaque, or some other type of recognition for Randy. I’ve read that he and his wife gave quite a lot to Scottsbluff including a shopping centre.

So fun to take the tour thru Scottsbluff, where I grew up. Last time I was there was for my Mother's funeral. She had worked at the West Nebraska Hospital in radiology . It was a good community to grow up in, although I didn't think so at the time. Great seeing the Methodist Church, the high school and the junior high school. I lived in Scottsbluff from 1948 to 1961.

A little before my time, but my folks graduated from Morrill High School in '52. Dad was a gypsy, and moved around a lot when I was a kid, but I still managed to graduate from Morrill in '76.

I was born & raised there in Scottsbluff. That "Bluffs Middle School" is where in graduated from High School in the late 50s. Good to see the school is still there! It's kind of weird hearing someone who has never been to Scottsbluff describe my city but thanks for a good job! Wish you could had set up a 360° camera so we could see what's on the side of the road. Lots of change from what I could see though. btw, that school 'was' the whole high school including the building on the right. They built a new high school a few years after I had graduated from the red brick building in front of your camera. If you had driven north on Broadway you would had seen the big football stadium. Broadway is the main street business district. When you got down to the Safeway store you could had seen what Scottsbluff was named for if you had looked out your passenger window. There, on the otherside of the North Platte River stands The Bluffs. It's a National Monument that you can drive up to the top and look over the Platte Valley. You're too funny...Gering is pronounced Gear-ring. I won't try to correct you on the other town's names but thanks for visiting my home town! you should spend some time there. The people are great!

Dad had the "Golden Rule" downtown in the late '70s. Looks like it's the Sports Post now! He used to go to New York twice a year to the big fashion trade shows and always had the latest styles in his store. He catered to middle aged to older women, and did very well til the economic disaster in Nebraska in the early '80s. Mom was the classiest dresser in town!
