As a Spaniard, I am very happy that Nebulossa represents us at Eurovision 2024. Nobody gave a single euro for them, with their low budget and the criticism they have received for their vocal quality and against all those walls, Nebulossa came out on top... And because ? Because ? If there were singers with better vocal quality... Yes there were... And my respects to all the participants at the Benidorm Fest; But for a song to be good, you don't have to have a great voice... How many world-renowned and well-known artists are there who don't have a great voice!?? Admitted by themselves. And "ZORRA" is an anthem against the sexism of a percentage of men in society, who try to disqualify women by calling them bitches and also for that "sector" of women who also try to belittle your life by calling you a bitch. !! Simply out of pure envy. That's the bitch message and it's very big!! But the song also has spark and is danceable, where it has been seen that the public sings with the artist and sings backing vocals, without being world-famous and highly consecrated!? In Sweden that stadium will become the coliseum and its gladiors will be: NEBULOSSA!!!!

thats actually expected when tickets are bought primarly by hc fans... I am glad for Nebulossa to represent the country, after all its not her fault. She gave her best. I am on one hand glad, that Spain dont take Eurovision seriously. On the other hand they should give this privilage to a country who does and try to go through semifinals like the most.
@mariansantos-co6kd11 ай бұрын
Is not that Spain doesn't take seriously the contest, it's at round, Eurovision has treated very bad Spain and the fact it goes to final is because it is one of the "owners" of the contest and put more money to the contest than the others
@G_RAM_CR9 ай бұрын
Hey @JanBors - Watching your channel for the very 1st time bro .... I would like to understand better the answer you gave above. I really don't think it's fair/correct to say "if Spain is not taking it seriously they should give this privilege to another country who does". (In reference to direct pass to the final) To have fun with it doesn't mean (necessarily) to not taking it seriously Unless either the broadcaster or the artist itself declare they no taking it seriously, we should not support that statement just because the fandom mention it. If there's a national final, a whole production involved, money invested, how could we just say they're not taking it seriously? Either jury or televote decision, choices are made ... even if the winner is not my personal favorite, but that's another matter. You seem to be a cool guy and I know your intentions are not offessive or malicious I just wanted to understand better your thoughts on Spain this year.
@LAUVERLL11 ай бұрын
The jury has valued the pack, not just the voice. That you have a great habit of valuing voices. Last year we had an extraordinary voice and we were 17th. Croatia 2023 and Moldova 2022 won the televoting without having strong voices. Televoters want fun, something that makes them happy or makes them dance.
@JanBors11 ай бұрын
there will be such music. Big 5 countries have responsibility over Eurovision, they also have granted finals. Juries are not there to please peoples taste, that why you have juries. They are there to also add profesionalism and this comes also with vocals. Because - package can change, the staging, choreographx, visuals, this is all articial. But the voice / vocal is real. And this will be a sad viewing. And just one claim - if peope outvotes jury, I would be absolutely fine with it. But it is a scandal that jury voted for a singer who just simply cannot sing. Then we just rly can have robots on stage just for fun if this package is a case.
@JanBors11 ай бұрын
and btw 17th was amazing score for Spain. Second best after Chanel in years. The song was ununderstandable for Europe unless few others and again jury was mistaken. Kinda believe Spain should do international juries like norway or sweden. 10 countries, 50 people from profi scene. Not 6 people

Hello, Spanish here. In case anyone is interested or wants to know the context of the song, the word "zorra" (in Spanish, it is the feminine of the animal fox) has been used as an insult to refer to girls who are "so sexually active" (basically the prostitutes/slut/bitch girls), or also the girls who could be classified as "rebels". The intention of this song is that the meaning of "zorra" stops being an insult and becomes a synonym for female empowerment.
@nachovillaro775011 ай бұрын
Just to make it clear, "zorra" means "bitch", "slut".

I don’t think vocals are AS important when they have a good song, like Kaarija last year. I don’t think they are gonna win because semi final 2 has the strongest songs in my opinion but she has this charm that makes her unique among other ones.
@JanBors11 ай бұрын
actually I thing that was the reason what cost Finland the win. So it is important. But it depends. In a right combination it does not to be a main thing but it must be at least ok. With the rest I totally agree with you.

Before winning, this song aimed to be a female empowerment anthem, seeking to reclaim the word "Zorra," which men use to offend women who feel free to be as they wish. Now, the song's lyrics are predominantly used as an anthem by the gay community, once again showcasing their power to change a concept originally meant for women. It’s kind of sad.

This is an anthem of empowerment. The voice will be greatly improved when Europe sings it at the same time. This song and dancers are not suitable for closed minds.

Anthems of empowerment works unviolent way. This is virtue signaling by staging. The song itself basically violates its purpose on stage. Why? Idk... but it does it.

yes, in studio version - there were like 10 of them? Live performance was very undewelming but as a music it kinda works. Ofc staging excluding this virtue signaling would be much better and singing also is bellow any standard but as a tribute to the fascinating Nebulossa its nice. For Spainish eurovision reputation and Eurovision in general its itresponsible decision but so what. It is what it is and I try to find possitives on it also. For sure will make a video with different POVs.

Well, the vocals are not on point, but if we compare last year Käärijä (from Finland) placed the 2nd and Blanca Paloma placed 18th, (or La Zarra 17th for example). So...
@JanBors11 ай бұрын
And I think you sum up the Spanish issue - like most of the "looser" countries - sees the problems where are not. I need to do a video about it. Exactly the developement - big breath of hope (Chanel) -> lets send something we love but no one understands (Blanca Paloma) -> troll eurovision saying and saying it does not matter (Nebulossa) The problem is - it matters, especially for big5 country. This stereotype must be broken. You cannot compare Kaarija to Blanca as his song was universally understandable or La Zarra which song was killed by staging and average performance, he was not perfect singing but he was on point (unless your representative rly cannot hit a single note now) and even though you have a song which is catchy this year, you did yourself a bad favors long term. As damages are harder to overcome than successes. Don't forget that as you are automatically in the finals unless most of countries, you should prove every year that you deserve to be in the finals. And also lead the example. When your artist win public voting by 5k votes, where even in Norway, which is 10 times smaller, winner receives 80k votes.... that speaks for itself where is the problem. It is not outside the Spain for sure.
@adrimacias142110 ай бұрын

I am quiet surprise reading here that vocals are not important 😳 yes, is a catchy song, is a good song with most imp great lyrics, but will be understood just for Spanish speakers and message wont be delivered for most of the viewers. She does not sing well. She is a 4.5 out of 10. Her actitud is not enough to cover her vocal weakness as she is too plain. And yes. Spain had better singers, but it is what it is. Kind of joke kind of proud.
