NECA Alien Romulus Scorched Xenomorph and Accessory Pack Review

This is definitely one of if not the best alien they’ve made. I just got mine yesterday and I love it. Great amount of accessories and the paint and plastic quality is phenomenal

As a matter of fact I think most of the close encounters with a Xeno in Romulus is the scorched Xeno. I believe it was him who gave Tyler a headbite, who dragged Kay back to the hive, the one hiding in the corridor (seen from the monitor, especially the one who caught Rain in the shaft.

I've only seen it once so you may be right. I need to watch it again and see if I can see the scars on his head.

Always awesome when a figure gives us a better look at a movie monster allowing us to appreciate the details and design even more. Aside from their design in Aliens with the more ridged dome this is probably my favourite variation on the original design, I always like when they give them the bent lower legs making them even less humanoid. It helps too knowing it was a puppet, makes the design a bit more tangible and visceral to me. I was very mixed on the film overall especially in the second half but I loved the way they handled the Xenomorph both in terms of the heavy use of practical effects and the way they brought back the feeling that it was an intelligent creature, especially during the door scene.

I really like this design too. And I also like the more animal-like legs. The effects and gore in this movie were really awesome. I agree the second half, I didn't like as much because I'm not sure how I feel about the newborn. But overall I liked the movie.

@@mrevilcheese I'm curious where they'll take the next film, the second 'Ash' showed up I really lost interest, I'm tired of CG de-aged actors especially ones who have passed away. From that point onwards there were too many cheap call-backs and references for me, right down to the repetitive ending we've seen five times now in this franchise with the secret surviving alien being blown out of the ship, and the newborn whilst done better than Resurrection still didn't really impress me, especially since it just kept reminding me of an Engineer rather than a Xenomorph. That's really the only big issues for me with it, it's a shame that the first half felt a lot more creative and innovative, hopefully they change things up a bit more in the next one.

What i like about the packaging is thatbit looks like the xenomorph looks like it's on a stasis or in a cryo tube.

Damn now I wish i would have compared those 2! And yeah that is very pricey! Sucks NECA costs so much there. That converts to bout $10-$20 more than hear.

16:16 That rifle should fit with G.I. Joe Classifieds. The earlier Pulse rifles that NECA released with the ALIENS figures fit with Classifieds/Valerverse figures👌 Shit, for a long time, I had my Black Series Bokatan with a NECA Pulse rifle in her hands. Ever so slightly big for a black series figure tho but it didn't bother me. It fit. Great unboxing. I'm looking to get both of these as well

Oooh, I love the "Duck Noises" action feature at the 10:17 mark. ;) Seriously though, what a banger of a figure!!! (snicker!) I had no idea these existed, and my wife is gonna be really happy, since she's a huge Alien fan. That accessory set, especially, is awesome! I love that fossilized version of the Big Chap and DANG! That Scorched Alien is HUGE! I didn't realize it was supposed to be THAT big in the movie. Does this mean NECA has plans to make any of the other characters from Romulus? I saw a Funko Pop of Rain, so assume she signed away Toy Likeness rights. 12:06 - GEEEZ! You got actual Facehuggers where you live?! You might want to move, unless you're craving a Chestburster in the future. Speaking of, I like the lil' Chestburster's tiny T-Rex arms. ;) 16:24 - "It's cool to have an assault rifle just, to either just lay in the display..." Screw that! Give it to that lil' Chestburster with the tiny T-Rex arms!!! That's the movie I wanna see! ;) Oh, and you reviewed everything in the video, except the obvious Band-Aid on your thumb! HAHAHAHA!!! I was like "duck noises??" So i had to check lol. And I hope they make some more characters from the movie. And I am mixed on the band-aid on my thumb. I mean it stayed on good, but it starting fraying at the edges a lot. It did its job tho so i guess thats what counts. 4.5 out 5 booboo ouchies. I dont know if that chestburster can hold the rifle but I can try!

No I mentioned it a couple times. Her work schedule has her working a lot of evening shifts and both weekends days, so its really hard to get a time where we are both here and feel like doing a review. We have done a few together recently but I haven't edited and posted them yet.

I like NECA but the whole idea of it just being that you need a plastic base stand to help the figures stand up properly just seems kinda pointless because i got six fucking horror figures that they had released and the ones i have seem to be standing pretty well on their own for sure.

I mean, look at the alien feet/leg structure, thats not something about neca, its just impossible to keep it standing without using the tail as a third leg

Yeah his body is huge and his head and it has the long tail, but little ankles and feet. Without the tail, he'd need the stand.

The price these sell for nowadays is hard to swallow. Combined with the use of cheap translucent plastic, it makes it way easier for me to pass on them. NECA isn't what it used to be, which was good quality figures for affordable prices. The source material ain't great either.

I dunno, I figured the translucent plastic is because he's supposed to be translucent. And the recent Universal Monsters figures are some of the best figures they've ever done. I've reviewed and bought NECA figures for a very long time and there has always been someone saying the quality sucks. For a while, years ago, they had a really bad breaking problem. I'll still have the occasional break with a stuck joint but it's rare now.
