Neca An American werewolf in london customised complete figure

This is my latest custom figure that i have just completed.I had previously made a custom Neca Kessler wolf head which i was happy with.I then thought it would be great if i could customise the whole figure and the alternate closed mouth head with fake fur so i decided to do it and this is how it turned out.I knew it would be a tricky and awkward project but i took my time and got some faux fur that i thought would look right to cover the figure.I couldnt find any suitable brown fur that looked like the wolf in the film so i used various greys and black fur instead.I bought a LED magnifying lamp so that i could see what i was doing in closeup detail.It made the project alot easier to do and i will now use it all the time on future custom figures.
I am very pleased with the finished custom .It was alot of work but i enjoyed the challenge of doing it.There are youtube videos of other custom Kessler wolfs but so far i have not seen any customs of this Neca figure.I have also put photos and text on this video to show how it was made.

Un lavoro ottimo, un opera di modellismo appassionato e meticoloso. Sincero omaggio a un Mostro Capolavoro, di un Film Capolavoro... ormai pietra miliare del cinema horror (e non solo horror) che, se messo in vendita così come l'hai realizzato... Oscurerebbe davvero (già lo ha fatto, se confrontato al modello originale!...) la sminuente immagine di un pupazzetto giocattolo! Pelliccia e colore sono anch'essi azzeccati. Pure come disposizione su tutto il corpo e muso compresi (ottima la tinta data al muso stesso, simile quasi al 100% a quella del Lupo Mannaro del Maestro Rick Baker. Quasi certo, che avrà anch'egli visionato questo tuo lavoro, che e' in primis... l'omaggio sincero ad una delle sue più celebrate creazioni) donano al tutto un realismo impressionante. Se questo modello viene piazzato in un contesto reale e senza riferimenti di proporzione (in giardino vicino ad un cespuglio, per esempio) si puo' avere l'illusione di avere davanti agli occhi un modello in scala reale. Hello Xu wang.My video of this figure includes how i made it from start to finish ,with text and photos.If you watch this carefully and are able to translate my english text,then this will show you how to do it.You will need to get some faux fur from something like clothes that is suitable.The glue that i used is a clear contact adhesive.It is like a gel and is very good for this type of work and dries within a few hours.It does not lose hair easily.The fur is held firmly in place with this glue.

Nice job! A pity you couldn’t get the hair to proper scale with the figure. I don’t know how you could miniaturise hair to fit the scale. That’s why the mane on your custom werewolf is uncharacteristically spiky-looking. I’d yellow up the teeth a bit to make it more screen accurate. Otherwise, an excellent job. It’s an improvement over the original figure. I also own this Kessler Werewolf (my favourite screen werewolf), and was contemplating doing the same, but the scale problem with the hair has dissuaded me from trying. Just imagine a larger scale release with actual hair. It’d be incredible!

Thankyou for viewing this and your comments.I wasnt completely happy with the fur that i used for the mane and i may redo it with a finer fur if i can find a suitable material.Other people have also tried to do what i have done but they also have that same problem of getting a fur material that would be the same scale as the figure.A larger scale version with real fur would be very nice to have and i hope that maybe one day,some toy figure company will make one.

I'm not here to be negative please believe this. I am a fellow artist and have been working on this piece myself. Yours looks awesome but in my opinion with all the work you've got invested in this, if you go back and tweak the whit fur on the face a little it will be perfect. Especially right in the middle. Trim it in a not so perfect v towards the brow so the dark gives the brow the angry look. Then you nailed it. Great job though !!

Thankyou for your comments.I think that you are right regarding the white fur on the face.I wasn't totally happy with it.I have been looking at photos of the original film prop and the fur on the face isn't as white as the fur on mine.I will probbably take the white fur off and put a light grey fur on it instead and not so prominent.I would like to see your version of this custom figure when its completed so please let me know if you put a video of it on youtube,thanks.

I will be doing a few modifications to this figure and trimming the mane.I did want to make this custom with brown faux fur when i started it but was unable to find anything suitable so i did it in a grey colour scheme.This is just my take on it and i knew i would not be able to make it completely movie accurate.

I dont think that Neca would ever make this figure with real hair as it would be too time consuming and costly to produce in large quantaties.This is why i made this as it i knew that it would look alot better with real fur
