The fin is there to protect the head (the conn pod) from kaiju hit. The pilots would have no problem seeing in front just like how we don't see our nose when looking down, our brain remove the nose from our vision. The pilots sees computer generated image on the big ass screen inside the conn pod.

I got the Romeo blue figure but because it was stiff before I could do anything, the left leg joint connecting to the waist broke, part of the ball joint, the circle within. the plastic seemed to have broke in half. any tips on what to do?? just glue maybe? ?

yes... but I saw a picture... what I remembered from the picture when they show the destroyed jaeger... you probably will see after they showed Horizon Brave that got defeated by Kaiju there's like jaeger scrap and some jaeger's head. There are 2 or 3 head... one is Tacit Ronin and I don't know the others...anyway... you will see in the background... I don't know if you see it... I saw 3 others jaeger are standing... I pretty sure I see Gipsy Danger standing next to... I think they called it "Brawler Yukon"... and I don't remember another jaeger's name... ( This is a really long comment... :P )
