My friend actually bought one of his opponents out of the tournament- then he started downloading Apex Legends and updated WOW when fighting his second opponent in this. He would also challenge them all to chess every single time. It was a funny tournament to experience when people embraced the chaos they allowed LOL

Eh, this is nothing compared to "bad things happening to good players" a rivals of aether/smash bros tournament (I know, "not real fighting games", but hear me out). Worldwide wifi tournament with single elim and a top 1 prize pool, but more importantly it had a rule where the two opponents could gentelmwn to anything, and I mean ANYTHING. So there where players who got quite far in without even owning the game, just challenging his opponents to other games; I think there was a strive game at top 8; houngrybox won the tournament by literally bribing all his opponents; and I think I heard something about a dick measuring contest
