Oh yeah I didn't think of that. Granted, Shen is like very devoted to his task so I highly doubt he would care enough to show up for simply a talk. He might randomly run into Aphelios and sense Alune from him. But since Alune's fortress seems quite safe and she has her own magic Shen would never need to go there to deal with any spirits.

I feel like the reason why the line "The Solari Do not see. We shine brightest with another's light" also has to do with the fact that the moon reflects the sun's light. Without the sun, the moon would not be able to shine, without the moon, the sun can only reach to targon when it's daytime there. So basically, the reason why the solari have to work with the lunari is because they need each other to get rid of darkness. It's not just the sun, and secretly the moon is dependent on the sun

6:15, Ummm, my boi, Diana murdered almost all the Elders from the Solari Temple... that's what she has done, the Solari are hunting her because of that, not just for being a Lunari xDDD Edit: The Great Darkness is something that has appeared in other stories, and I think I know why the Lunari are necessary to stop it. First it's the color story of Diana, where she closes a portal in some ruins (maybe from the Void). Then we have the stuff of the Marai, who use a Moonstone to close a Void portal. Another clue is the darkin storyline, where the power of the Moon was used to trap them. I think that the main power of the Moon is sealing/banishing magic, and if an invasion happens, Targon will need that power to close the portals.

"Diana knows the Moon's name." I think that just means she knows the name of the Aspect of the Moon. So far, the only Aspect we know the name of is Pantheon, the Aspect of War. The Protector and the Trickster seem more like alternative titles for the Aspects that Taric and Zoe have. The Aspects of Justice, Sun, and Moon have yet to be given anything resembling a proper name. I feel like what this is meant to signify is that the actual names of the Aspects are meant to be kept secret, but their vessels may inherently gain that knowledge upon being chosen.

Cause if you remember: the darkness is basically the mockery of the spirit realm and mortal realm. Based on the way Alune talks to Aphelios in game and in the release lore, I wouldn't be surprised if his name referring to Sun meant something deeper. She seems to always be trying to convince him he's doing the right thing and on the right side. It probably means nothing in the long but but you know what, it's interesting to think about

Aphelios comes from the Greek word Αφήλιο which stands for the period of when the earth is at its farthest point from the Sun at summer. So Aphelios name literally means "away from the sun" or "far from the sun". I'm Greek and when I saw the name of this champion I thought he was Greek or something.

I think the 'fleeing, what have you done' interaction to Diana was meta-wise using the Solari Elder Massacre as a red herring in order to actually reference whatever had happened on Ionia that Diana was apparently returning from. Lots of recent things seem to be shifting a larger-scale lens onto Ionia, like the Awakened m/v for one example.

Diana actually slaughtered a bunch of solari after she became the aspect. It’s in Leonas lore. They both climbed mount targon and became the aspects and ended up fighting each other. Diana had her weapon to leonas throat but then fled. When Leona went back home her people were slaughtered by Diana. So I’m assuming that’s why she fled to Ionia.

“Leona learned that Diana and Leona has to work together”. It was the other way around. After learning the truth from the Aspect, Diana knew that the Solari and Lunari are important to co-exist, but Leona, being the hyper religious Solari that she is, rejected it. Diana probably ran away to Ionia because she cannot control her Aspect’s power? Seeing as she unconsciously killed the Solari elders and almost killed Leona herself. Still, Leona is looking for Diana because she probably understood that it was not Diana’s fault and that she wanted to help her old friend (as mentioned in Leona’s lore).

Diana moon reference: Likely means she knows the true name and interacts with the actual aspect of the moon, not just as a vessel like the other aspects, but on a personal level. The aspect has been [Insert Existential Crisis Here] for so long, it's likely incredibly weak, and thus only has one being it is providing power to. Diana. The solar cycle is shifting, and soon it, too, will span the galaxy once more, and the solar will fade. This is a huge difference, say, from Pantheon. Who we call Pantheon because he has *SO MANY ASPECTS* across the whole galaxy. War is eternal. War never changes. And i'd bet you a riot point none of them know the targonian's favorite color, like Diana knows the moon's. The line on what she's fleeing. Holy fuck you looked at this so wrong. It's most likely that she's fleeing something in Ionia, NOT from Targon. She's returning, and being chased. Alune knows not what she has done, but believes it is likely bad, as the Ionians would only pursue her for evil spiritual deeds. OR, that the actual targonian is fleeing from the rest of the true targonians, and is using Diana, her only aspect, to do so. Perhaps a celestial crime that she believed necessary, but they disagree. In the line of the moon not being there for them: This supports the second side of the above paragraph. The lunar targonian did something terrible, which caused the cycles to shift. It was cast into the darkness, and all of mount targon attempted to destroy it. In their time of need, the targonian did not help it's people, but rather wallowed in the darkness with them. Until Diana became it's Aspect. My terminology is not perfect, but these terms mean, by my intent: Targonian: The galactic powerhouses for which the runeterran mountain is named. The actual, super powerful beings. Aspect: Runeterran that became a vessel for a Targonian. Mount Targon: The full set of Targonians, I see them like a council of gods, similar to Mount Olympus in greek mythology. None is truly the greatest, but some *Cough* war and twilight *Cough* are OBVIOUSLY more favored, and thus more powerful, among the council. I believe the threat they face is the void. I believe the actual moon is not an entity, but rather a focus point of the celestial power of Lunar energy, just as the sun is the same for solar. Keep in mind, Necrit, it's Canon that the targonians aren't even from this solar system. Of course the runeterran moon isn't the actual thing giving power. It's the ancient Targonian who can push her power through the moon, to the faithful. Same as the sun. Etc. However, it wouldn't be a stretch to say that targonian may very well BE on runeterra herself. We know she's incredibly weak, due to centuries of persecution by the rest of Mount Targon, and we know runeterra is the focal point in which the Targonians predict pretty much all the bad shit is gonna happen. They have HEAVILY invested in this planet. The one single aspect of twilight is here. The successful Ascended ritual was here. The one single aspect of the Moon is here. The only known aspect of the protector is here. AND the aspect of war was slain here. He cared so much about keeping order on this particular planet that he stayed inside of Atreus' body until the end, instead of just dipping out and letting him take the full blow from the darkin. Pantheon literally died on this planet, according to the new lore. That. Is. Huge. That being had been around for literally millions of years, and he put everything on the line to try and keep Runeterra under control. Why? Also, I have a nitpick to point out. The story says that the fortress hadn't been seen in centuries, it did NOT say that every time the fortress appeared the balance of the cycles shifted. The Targonians are beyond ancient. For all we know, the Solar targonian has been in favor for literally 10 million years. We don't know. All we know is that on this planet, the Lunari began to be persecuted some time since the last time the fortress appeared, a few centuries ago. That's it. We also know it appearing THIS time is a sign in the shift of power of the cycles. Why? Perhaps because it means the Lunar Targonian, thought to have been slain, has hoarded enough power from her runeterran faithful, the only ones left in the galaxy, to bring the fortress back, and she chose now to do so because Alune was a perfect candidate to enter, and the cycles were beginning their own natural shift. A shift she might have been waiting for since before the birth of runeterra itself. We don't know. Perhaps a couple centuries ago the lunar targonian committed an act the Mount Targon council deemed heretical, and thus her faithful were being snuffed out of existence to slowly sap her of her power, resulting in her death. But, once she'd been extremely weakened, she went into hiding. Only after she had secreted herself away did the Targonians know that they stood no chance against the void without her, thus now the Solar Targonian is using Leona to seek her out. The Void was likely waiting for the shift in cycles, knowing full well the Targonians would bicker, and one day the cycle that wasn't in favor would be the only one left to stand in defense, as the other targonians shunned their own kind in a political squabble. The Solar sees their cycle shifting away, and only now has begun to regret the persecution of their sibling.

It would be really cool If Riot decided to go with this path of the inevitable overwhelming darkness coming to Runeterra,whether it's the Void or not. Perhaps Targonians or rather the Aspects,who are supposed to be the links between humans and Celestials,get corrupted in a way that instead of defending the future of life they fight each other in conflicts that represent the human part taking the best of them. And when the darkness comes,it's only in the last minute they realize what they should've done and try replicating it,but it's not enough,leading to a global extinction,and ultimately the Death of the Heavens. Without the soldiers who were destined to keep life at all cost,humanity is left alone to life,carried by few warriors in the whole world uniting for the greater good. Imagine every single champion having a part taken in the event,there could some serious story if not game changes in the whole history of video games,it'd be crazy to think this could come true. The apocalypse threatening to obliterate all life,as fractions of only the strongest and the most willing mortal beings teamed up,that had limited time to push their spirit and body to the highest limits unaware of the future what's to come.

Something I don't see talked about is that the interaction for killing leona says kill "Solari", yet Leona is the only champion in the game who is solari. So my question is, are we going to get some kind of opposite to aphelios, a follower of the teachings of the solari, as a playable character? or does that voiceline play for Pantheon as well, because I do know that he was solari before he became an aspect.
