Can further improve this build with - 1. 4/4 Eternal affix of bone spirits (which i dont have yet :/) 2. Trying a 4p vithus variant - Using a bit more primary attack after inflicting fear.

Thanks for the video. I used to play something similar using the two wandering skulls to trigger Fear, but this new essence certainly seems like a significant improvement. I love any build that allows me to use my Chip of Stoned Flesh... One gem that I always felt frustrated by is Nightmare Wreath, as it seemed too limited to be useful... It triggers 'on kill' but only has a 10% chance to fear other nearby enemies (2.4 seconds at rank 10 ... and there might be a chance to extend that duration with a buff). I feel it's probably still too limited with only a 10% chance... However, if a Necro is scoring A LOT of kills in BG AND has a Chip of Stoned Flesh, adding a Nightmare Wreath gem could potentially start a chain reaction of procs... If you cause Fear from a critical hit and also have Igneous Scorn and Volatility Shard in your build, you might be able to completely destroy your BG opponents. 🤔

Another gem that might help the build is Misery Elixir, as it should theoretically extend the negative effects duration by 24% (or whatever it's nerfed to in BG).

My chip was kept dormant for a long time. I have again made it active thanks to this build. And yeah, havent used nightmare's wreath and volatility shard just because of the limited use case of those gems

This is a superb build. Also Chip of Stone Flesh make this build viable for endless since it only triggers when you apply loss of control to an enemy I'm going to try this . I can only apply fear with wraith form and since now they nerfed it this can be a replacement Thanks for the info

That looks like a fun build. Thanks for sharing! 1) the bone spirits chest should be easy to test at the normal dummy, since I believe that one is *not* immune to cc like fear. That high a percentage should be obvious. 2) your armor penetration is very low. You should get boots and 2nd bracers with triple sockets asap, and your average damage against players should go up.

Your legendary gems definitely look great for that build, especially chip of stone flesh. That’s one of the many 5 stars I’ve had dormant for ages, with the thought that I’ll someday dust it off for a strong cc PvP build.

Idk which gem id swap out for roiling consequence. Probably starfire shard, as it looks like you have enough cc with that build.

These days I run 4 5 stars, 2 2 stars and 2 1 stars. I always use bsj, bottled hope, and roiling consequence, and one more based on the build, keeping it dormant at other times.

Auroth usually runs 4 5 stars, 3 2 stars, and 1 1 star, and he’s around 5k reso iirc. He taught me a lot about optimization. I’m around 3.8k reso with the star count distribution I described above.

If Fear is considered as Loss of Control, then Pain of Subjugation gem is good to use to increase damage

Too many automatic skills (like barb chains) for the dash fear to be optimal, Proximal Fear pants would be better imo. But been wanting to try similar build, just need the new essence.

Good point. I have tried this with high potency as fear is an imp element of the build. If the fear dont last long, it can backfire as you are in close range. But maybe Armor pen can provide you so much damage that you wont need high fear duration. That will be interesting. But not fully sure about that
