I recently learned that Sleeve Kings makes a 75mm x 110mm sleeve that fits the Necromunda cards *BETTER* than these ones they were selling. I need to see about getting some. Also while this new Core Rule book is great, and does consolidate a lot of things, all the other books still have things that aren't covered. For example the psychic powers and rules in the rule book work, but it's all greatly expanded on in Book of the Outcasts. I love all my Necromunda books, I'm not even playing the game, just collecting, and love all the lore and how they expand the game.

The previous books all used the mottled pattern as a background to the text same as the PDF's and this did make it difficult to read especially in low light or if you didn't have the best eyesight. Getting rid of this in this edition is worth the money alone. I did manage to order a copy from a local store but I have a horrible feeling I may not get one due to GW's habit o short changing the stores on pre-orders. Fingers crossed.

My biggest concern is how long that spine is going to hold up to repeat use, given the size of the book and the sheer amount of rules involved.

Very much looking forward to those videos. I dont have a community to play with, so im modding a solo play game based around KT. Ive always planned to reference necromunda but as you said, the rules are just all over the place. Itll be great to have it all laid out even though ill likely never play it myself. 20years ago, my first GW purchase was an Esher gang, purely for the painting. Never actually played the game.

It's such a random, chaotic and unbalanced game (I love that about it) that I think it would be perfect to play solo. You could definitely play both sides, switching back and for, have a different goal in mind for each of them, then let the dice decide their fate. I played two identical games against someone a few weeks back. We played the same gangs each game, had the same plan, but the outcomes were totally different each game. Great fun.

I've found it really tricky to get playing, and same as you, confused big time going through all the books. So happy this new book is out, still have to go to the gang books, but this is a good move.

You shouldn’t get overwhelmed. It’s like an RPG. If you stack up all the D&D 5th ed books, it would be, what, 3 to 5 times as much info.

The gangs are great but I like that the game is perfect for using proxies from other game systems. I use Infinity models for my Venator gang and they work really well. The mat is from Warfactor, I've featured it a bunch in other videos and can highly recommend it. Brilliant for war-games but also for DnD and other RPGs. These cards should have just been playing card size, they didn’t even make the text take up the empty space, just requires a weird size set of sleeves

To make your own gangs from scratch you want to look at Venators. The info for them is in the 'Book of Peril'. You do still need other books for the gangs unfortunately. They may be available as PDFs online but I can't recommend looking for those at all 😉

Would you suggest this book for a brand new player who’s bought the Ash Wastes box?

I haven't bought any other books for Necromunda prior to this, and haven't seen the Ash Wastes book, so it's difficult to say. I like having all the updated rules in one place, though, and it's likely to be the go to book for a few years if the previous updates are anything to go by. If you want to play in the Underhives, try out different campaigns, and want the core rules all in one place, then this is a great book that will make starting much easier.
