The Champions of Russ take on the Cult of Magic in a battle of fangs versus fire. The Thousand Sons are deadly with devastating sorcery and both Ahriman and Magnus will be looking to exterminate the wolves with extreme prejudice. Tak is piloting the Space Wolves for the first time in 10th edition and is returning to the first army he ever played in a tournament. Logan Grimnar, Bjorn the Fell-handed, and Murderfang lead the Space Wolves against their hated foe. Lists below.

@kosherbeefcake oh for sure! I got one for my blood angels army. It seems like a staple dread for Ba, I'm new so I could be wrong but since it's a more melee dreadnought you benefit from the army charge rule with plus 1 to attacks and plus 2 to strength

@@kosherbeefcake Think how viable it is will depend on what tables you play on and what armies you face. One of its major drawbacks is being a vehicle requiring moving around terrain (ruins) reducing its movement. Another is that it's weapon options don't have a lot of targets they are ideal against. So more often you will see jump pack infantry used to fill the assault role. Except for the ironhail on top it is a cool model though.

Feel like Tak maybe missed a chance to let saga of the bear shine, he could have taken it a few times but missed it, sagas check at the end of each turn. Also probably was a good candidate for taking at the start of the game, an army wide 6+ fnp and runic wards going to a 4+ is big vs 1k sons. But was a great game, loved to see it! Heres hoping the wolves get a fun detachment tomorrow to celebrate!

Absolutely! I definitely would have loved a few practice games before shooting a 40k in 40m. Looking back the Feel No Pain could have come in very handy against Thousand Sons.

@@PlayOnTabletop It definetly takes a few games to get used to champions of russ, but it is a super fun detachment with the little mini side quests of getting the buffs active. I think you also forgot to call Logans wolf Waaaaggggghhhhh, for the army wide reroll charge and hit, but you made your charges and had magnus oathed, so it didnt matter a ton. I have enjoyed playing Arjac with some wolf terminators, and Logan on foot with a battle leader. The lethal bolters can actually put in alot of work vs an oath of moment target, and Arjac is super fun. Helps spread out resources so your not all in on twc, but do still run one twc squad, they are so iconically space wolf. Either way, loved the game, you murderfang popped off and you played it super well. A super classic matchup.

Reasons why I like Space Woves: 1. They are well organized into wolf packs and is good for control over the army 2. They often fight against the inquisition to protect guardsmen and people. (e.g. Armegeddon) 3. They are one of the most free legion, and also swift and good at melee

I really hoped to see the TWC put in some work, Logan too, but Murderfang had a great moment, and Bjorn with one wound left finishing Magnus was just so damn fitting. So good to see my Wolves on the table again, especially in a list so similar to how I like to play

What an awesome and cinematic game! Bjorn was really clutch. Probably easy to tell who I was rooting for. Despite the score, it seemed a lot closer. The Thunderwolves all getting melted before they could get into combat was brutal.

Amazing game! It was looking bad for Tak for a minute...until Mubin started failing all those consecutive rolls. That Mutilith explosion was BRUTAL, but that Bjorn play was equally devastating. Idk which one is my fav moment.

Murderfang, Bjorn and the Wulfen dread are my favourite units. I truly hope they stay and stay as boxnoughts. If GW HAVE to do something with them, I wouldn't mind if they kept the same chassis but just made it redemptor scale.

Loves me some space thunder puppers. Absolutely wreck face if you can get them in, and a lot of wounds to chew through in a big block of them but you've got to risk getting them in. Which I always struggle with, I do the same thing Tak did and leave 400 points of them hanging out chillaxing at the back of the board instead of killing stuff because I'm so worried about losing any of them. Love all the gorgeous conversions on the Space Wolves as well. My favorite marine chapter, so much character.

@ it’s a hard army to pilot. But mubins been playing for years and ive never seen him win a game. He forgot multiple buffs like magnus aura, didn’t use our strongest stratagems and did 0 combo plays with his units with stratagems.
