This game is great. It seems only the reviewers dislike it. It's a brutal FPS with good shooting/combat and game mechanics. It has a real old school vibe to it. I prefer this over Doom Eternal, it's always slowing you down and forcing you to micromanage ammo, fuck that. I doubt this guy played past the first handful of levels. You can't execute every enemy type. If you stop plying it on pussy mode, you'll understand why. Some enemies you have to get their health down before you can execute them as well.

I can understand you being pissed off about X-ray vision, if it was a mandatory unlock in the way another perk you want, and it activates automatically. But if it's linked to a dog, don't summon the dog, or don't press the activation key. Not really something to get worked up over.

the game isn't shit, your review is. I had a ton of fun playing Necromunda. in fact, it was interesting enough that I actually played it to completion, unlike most of these modern boomer shooters. P.S. as suggested by somebody, I here's a bunch of points (some copied from my replies to other comments): 1. this is a budget title from an indie dev. which isn't an excuse, but you should set your expectations appropriately. 2. chaining melee takedowns like described in the video is only effective on lower difficulties, and *only* on the lowest tier enemies - which is when the game is supposed to be easy. if you feel the game is too easy, turn up the difficulty. or just don't use this mechanic. to be more specific: melee takedowns are not overpowered, because on higher difficulties you can get killed very quickly if you find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time. enemies can surround you by the time the animation ends, and then just rip you to shreds. or this can happen as you're trying to get in melee range. in general, you have to plan carefully when and where to use this ability. 3. enemies don't spawn behind you, some of them have a teleportation ability. in some levels enemies spawn around the player, but always at some distance, and never in clear line of sight (there's only one specific point in the game where this is bugged and the spawn point is suck in one place). 4. dog and it's wallhacks are optional. I can think of only a few parts of the game where this is genuinely useful, so, likewise, you don't really have to bother with this mechanic if you don't like it. 5. enemies don't spawn infinitely during most campaign missions. in those specific instances where this does happen, it's because the missions were designed with a different objective in mind (traverse the area under pressure, plant a bomb and get out, etc). this is not a problem unless you actively try to avoid doing what you're supposed to be doing.

teleportation is an ability that some enemies have, in case you didn't know that. if you actually mean spawning, I've played the game to death, and there was only part where spawns were broken (stimmdogs bossfight). but even then it's not like they actually spawn behind you, they just spawn in one specific spot. it's nowhere near as bad as cops in Cyberpunk 2077.

There seems to be a formula for AAA console games and it seems to work, enough people like it that way and millions are made. It's kind of like a movie action scene, but give some control to the player to feel more like its you in it and the rest is just click play and watch the movie. But I'm with you though! I like the old school games that give you a chance to fail intellectually. In cyberpunk the mantis arms were even worse, just look at enemy from a distance, click button and watch animation while you eat popcorn.

It was Deus Ex 3 that brought these "I am immortal while i slaughter you friends" animations in if i am not mistaken. At least there you have limited energy to use them, they are still really bad from a game design standpoint. Dying Light for example does it much better. Your avatar is not immortal during takedowns so you have to use them tactically.

Deus Ex HR was a stealth kill, the enemy had to be unaware of you for you to do it. Not the samething at all. I prefer just a straight hit them on the head or choke them out as I hate when control is taken away from me, but it wasn't like this game.

Rage 2 was made by Avalanche studios along with the mighty 'Id software'. Rage 2 probably has the best first-person action you can get in any game. And yes I understand that it is a ridiculously tall claim. The sad part is that that action doesn't last long and come in parts. Rage 2 also has the most 'powerful n impactful shotgun' out of all id software games. It is not a good game overall but buy it on some ultra sale if you can. You would feel the genius of id software in combat and then get heartbroken by the potential ruined by everything else in that game.

it's because DoW 3 flopped. voting with your wallet never works out the way people think it will. now, ain't that a diabolical irony… however, Necromunda: Hired Gun is a good game, just not perfect. if the devs get an opportunity to make a sequel with a bigger budget, it may even overshadow Doom.
