I'm a big fan. I know a lot of people feel they might be a little on the derpy side but I love the fact they stuck to the Atom-punk aesthetic. My Necromundan Coal Board will gladly welcome some melee comrades. Now to see if I can get ball bearings in there!

I quite like the squats, they're a nice callback to the old metal Squar Exo-armour. I reckon they'll be a prospect, as Squats currently have none. It's shameful that GW have never released a weapon pack for Nomads. They're missing a whole list of the starting options, some of which are unique to them: Blast carbine Scavenged autogun Scavenged stub gun Web pistol Venomcaster (FW do that champ, though) Web gun Heavy blaster Long blade I expect we'll see a resin set someday, like the Corpse Grinders.

Prospect doesn't make too much sense, they look like hardened veterans, not plucky newbies. I'd say a ganger variant since it comes with more than two of them (I assume), but could be another champion. Or just represent a wargear choice.

I really like the look and style of these tbh. In fact as I was looking at them I was thinking Underhells with these lot doing the whole exploring the xenomorph ship in Alien or investigating the crashed ship in Sphere. The industrial looks are great for my money. Ever since you pointed out a long time ago that the current eavy metal style is poo, I see things differently. I think we will see some killer looking expensive suits on social media soon enough.

The teaser for more to come makes me think of Squat Trikes. I love these little dudes, the faces look great, hopefully all weapon options are included, and it makes me somewhat more hopeful for an upgrade sprue for the regular Prospectors, which they very much need.

I always loved the look of the squats but preferred more melee focused gangs. Problem solved. They look awesome definitely make squats a big contender for my first gang if I finally get my friends to try the game. New ash waste nomad stuff would be really cool too. We could always use more weird wasteland creatures.

The shape of the perimeter wall, that surrounds the excursion zone looks a lot like Forge World OOP "Imperial Fortress Walls". Knowing the GW doesn't invent anything just to put it into a picture, I think there is a high probability that we will see those walls in plastic in some distant future.

I predicted this. I was trying to think up a potential prospect for squats the other day and thought up a juve who gets sent in to do dangerous mining. I even built one with a drill. My idea was more of a infiltrater who digs his way in using his weapons. These new guys look more like super champions.

In reference to the lack of flexibility in the suit bodies, look at Atmospheric Diving Suits, such as the JIM suit from the 1960's and the current Newtsuit, Hardsuit, and Exosuit. Some designs don't even bother with legs, so a rigid suit would make sense if it was originally meant for working in extreme pressures.

Nomads don’t have any specialists at the moment. I focus on the word ‘fauna’ in the text. I think the next release will be a nomad specialist and prospect box with lots of additional exotic beasts. Sort of a nomad version of the wyld runners with 2 close combat specialists using the fluff in the apocrypha. Makes me think the next book will have rules for squat and nomad specialists. Sadly, can’t see delaque vehicles on the horizon.

I wonder if they use the old exo rules, plus four save on 2d6 added together? Saying that terminator armour was three plus on 2d6, but lets not mention khorne terminators. It would make sense based on squat movement.

They somehow seem to be lacking....detail. Like they forgot to add personality to any of the suit designs. bit, dare I say it, boring? Plus any new model that has a lot of restrictions on kit I'm not a fan of. Really limits the way they play in almost every scenario.
