You're back! I'm so happy to see your gorgeous necrons back on the battlefield. Such a shame the codex is that weak now... I was fed up with SM being overcosted and recently started a Necron army with the Forgebane deal and some friend's random gifted models. In casual games, I love Lychguard and rolling for protocols. Painting them while watching the batrep. Keep it up, fingers crossed for chapter approved!

The Wraithknight was almost the first one to go. Apart from the few mistakes already mentioned, I think the eldar player forgot how good the Crimson Hunter Exarch is (reroll wound against flying units). Great battlereport, definately made the bottom of my top2 list of battlereports on youtube. Subbed and liked!

Unfortunately its a matter of trial and error.. just get an eyedropper and drop water into the pot one drop at a time until youre happy. its different with every colour due to different pigments but just take your time :)

Nice one, great battle. Doomsday Arks / Tesseract Vaults and also Destroyers/HD/DL are a need in current necron meta. The high framerate really pays of - i'm just starting off and got all the equipment but really thinking about higher resolutions and higher framerates. But with the amount of footage for one battle report its tremendous.

Hi guys, The monolith can not damage the wraithknight with the exile portal for being a Monster. The wraithknight can only make 4 attacks with the Titanic sword, not 8 attacks. Excellent video, you can not hear what the eldar player says he needs a microphone. Bay = D

Every Necron army change I ever made got gutted by the next edition, I went from running a pile of anihilation barges and ghost scythes to wraith swarms and then to piles of infantry. Pretty sure I'll just find people tomplay fourth or fifth with me...

I had hope that it was going to be one of the units that got improved when we got the new Codex. So, I built and painted it in time for the Codex. I was really disappointing. I put a lot of work into a model that is just so bad. Maybe chapter approved will make it viable? if you knock 200 points off it, it's almost worth taking.... All in all. I am really happy with the Necron Codex. It's not going to win a tournament, but it's loads of fun.

The necrons look incredible, but they do seem like a showcase of the worst units in the codex, minus the deceiver. A tesseract vault instead of an obelisk is a much better/reliable choice, as well as a different dynasty choice as Nihilakh makes your triarch stalker basically useless. Still a cool game though!

I’ll work on making my force competitive by replacing some units but for the most part will try to incorporate much of what I already have. Had I taken out the Obelisk it would’ve been a better game. Doomsday Arks are definitely a worthwhile investment! An additional 3 wraiths to get that unit maxed is also something I'd prioritise. I'd also recommend Tomb Blades, they are one of few necron units that actually have customisation options and can be made quite versatile. Mixing shield vanes with shadowlooms (since every model in the unit doesn't need to take the upgrades) along with their inherent -1 to hit makes them an excellent bullet sponge. Beware though, assembling them is an art form and science in and of itself! For pure damage output Destroyers are probably our most effective unit, extermination protocols really puts out the hurt. And since they're infantry they benefit from auras and area cover, so veiling them up the board into cover along with a chronotek gives them some staying power as well. 2+/5++ on six T5 3W models means they should get to benefit from RP at least once or twice as well. Anyway, great batrep, good to see you back!

Well I think that is more evidence of how poor our necron codex is at doing gunline style play, the silver tide supported by monoliths etc is juat not viable in just about type of game, let alone matched play. To take on a fairly gnarly eldar list like this you need a tonne of destroyers, a tonne of doomsday arks and a tonne of tomb blades. Leave your necron infantry on the shelf until 9th edition. I am sure these are the models you have but their not great, nihilakh can be solid but not with your model choices. This much of a roflstomp left me sad.

@@EmperorsCrusade nihilakh DDAs are not to be sniffed at - 2-3 in the backfield is super solid. Put them on top of the high ground to prevent assaults. If you get destroyers and tomb blades paint them in a different dynasty maybe, sautekh is super duper good for them.

And if you get chance to experiment with playing necrons the nephrek rules are pretty damn good and the added bonus of deep strike. Honestly it plays very well. And final tip, you need to hide your necrons out of LoS turn one, were just not resilient enough. Hide let them come to you, and counter punch it gets the best out of the 24" range
