I was happy when I saw Hypnos, then had to pause when I saw his art. You could tell immediately something was off. He does not appear to be sleeping out of choice, and the flowers left around him feels like a funeral for the incarnate of Sleep. Perhaps to sleep forevermore.

@@Sifya Oh yeah, he's definitely doing SOMETHING through his sleep. My bet is that he's keeping people safe in sleep and dreams, but due to how dire the situation is, he has to stay asleep in order to order to keep it up. It's very sad to think about, because the whole thing implies that he's never even met Melinoe since she was born; he's been there the whole time while she was growing up but just never able to say or do anything with her. It's such a powerful juxtaposition with how he was in Hades, always the first person Zagreus meets upon returning to the House.

Man seeing Hypnos like that messes me up like he was so lively in the last game and now he’s just gone in a endless sleep and what’s worse is I’m pretty sure we’re never told whether or not he was put to sleep before or after the fall of the house of Hades so theoretically, he might not even know that his home and workplace are currently under the control of a titan

Right, I have some headcanons, but one things for certain is that Hecate already found Hypnos like this. The timeline as to when is still a mystery. It's very likely Chrono time-looped Hypnos' sleep cycle. But I also speculate this was Nyx's desperate attempt in saving his baby boy, by pacifying Hypnos and claiming he was harmless to the titan. Or in some form, Chronos forced Nyx's hand so that he would spare Hypnos on her request.

@@Hamstir4 it probably was most likely cronos but I also like your idea that it was nyx who did it especially since in actual mythology nyx is very protective of hypnos to the point where she would even defend him from Zeus so her putting her son to sleep semi permanently to protect him is in character for her and as for the reason why she hasn’t woken him up it might be because either she can’t because she stuck in the house of Hades like Hades might be.or it could be that she doesn’t even know he’s out of the house of Hades And thus waking him up might put him in danger

@@bigejfi6157 I forgot about the Zeus story. I'm down for whatever Supergiant is cooking. But I think Nyx going out of her way to protect Hypnos would be super effective to me. The technicalities to why Hypnos hasn't woken, unsure. Perhaps it really is a powerful curse from Chronos or Nyx. There was a comment regarding Arachne going about how it may Mel that would undo her curse. If that's the case, she may also play a role waking Hypnos.

I think there was a theory that he was keeping the other Titans asleep and out of the war with his sleep powers whilst he's sleeping, but only time will tell if that's true or not.

Hades games does a fantastic job with the dialogues, reactions and interactions with other characters. Makes things feel more lively. It’s something that most other games lack. Good Job Supergiant!

I know we're still excited about Hades 2 full release, but I'm already interested in what they would cook for their games after the Hades franchise.

Although the art for the Olympian gods feels a little lackluster imo, most notably Zeus. But there's still plenty of time before the official release.

@@Hamstir4 I have the same gripe with Artemis! I love how polished everything looks, but some gods seem to be missing the little bits and bobbles that made them so unique in the first game. Def think Aphrodite had the best design progression though! :D

@@jiasolia lol unironically you may be right about Aphrodite. The thing is, the art for the new gods look great, it's only the Olympians. Imo, I think the poses are less dynamic or fun compared to the last game. Poseidon had his trident rest on his shoulders, Artemis had her back curved, almost like a Jojo pose. But in this game, they all just stand with their arms out. I get it they're at war, so perhaps their intention was for a bold look, but it comes off a little bland.

@@Hamstir4 yup, but i think they'll probably tweak a lot of the art and mostly just wanted to use the art as a kind of direction for where to go and what to do. i personally think that something really cool could be unique backgrounds for every character. they've already got a background on the boon gods/goddesses but seeing like an ocean behind poseidon, a hunting range behind artemis, etc etc would be really cool and give a bunch of depth to the world of olympus. also the devs def know what they're doing, these are the kinds of devs that'd probably delay their game by 2 years if something wasnt how they wanted it to be. their games are super detailed and polished so, i think on release it'll just be awesome and i'm def buying it as soon as i can

You may be right, these could very much be concept arts ^ However, I'm certain most of these are quite close to their final product, reason being it would be too late to change it now. Touch up work is doable, but redoing entire poses would be redoing the entire art. They could absolutely delay the game if they think it's not good enough. If I could criticize a bit more, because Supergiants expanded their team, it's become harder to agree on a direction. I'm no art major, but I wish I could articulate it better from here.

Well.... He's the Incarnation of Doom or the end of everything so yeah most offering comes to a spirit named Elpis who was given to humanity by Titan Prometheus whose name's mean hope in order to evade and stop Moros dooms and apocalypses.
