Ephyra is Corinth's ancient name. It's named after Ephyra, a nymph that reportedly first arrived at the land, and thus it was named after her. Corinth was the land Sisyphus ruled and also where Jason abandoned Medea. But don't trust the people who live in the City of Ephyra because you already know about evil king Sisyphus and evil witch Medea in Run #67. Also 18:20, I don't know much about Rift of Thessaly but it reminds me of the adventures of Jason and Odysseus.

Ahh, explains a lot of characters and relations involved in Ephrya! It would be cool if we get mentions of Sisyphus since he has appeared in the first game! You may be right about Rift of Thessaly related to Odysseus with their relation to Charybdis.

@@Hamstir4. I didn't expect this because I had never heard that the City of Ephyra was derived from the name of the nymph. But I think it could be an eponym. An eponym is a person, a place, or a thing after whom or for which someone or something is, or is believed to be, named. There are many characters in Greek mythology that have their own eponyms. For example: Erebus 35:09 (God of Darkness), Oceanus 46:18 (God of Fresh Water), Tartarus 1:06:08 (God of Hell), and many others. 18:20. The rift was created by Poseidon, it reminds me of Triopas of Thessaly (son of Poseidon and princess Canace).

YO 2 hours???? Hammy???? Hornet's theme is so good, it's one of my fave osts in the game "Dashing tells me this game might get harder" Do we tell him You're doing super well with the combat tho! Specially since you only started playing a bit ago Poor dude by the lake was just chilling and you jumped him 😔 The sound design on Queen's Station is lovely, it's one of my fave rooms in the game I'll leave a comment later with more stuff once I get to watch the rest of the video 🫡

Ya ya ya! 2 hours!! Well, umm. I sort of spent a good time umm, I got a little, I was met with a challenge involving mushrooms. I don't want to speak further on that.. Hornet's theme is a bop! and the stakes feel higher with the strings. Actually, makes tons of sense the theme emphasizes string instruments with her threat attacks. Muchas gracias! I could use the encouragement from time to time c: Time to be quick on my feet! LOL look. I didn't want to touch guy by the lake, so I jumped to check! then I got clobbered. Queen's Station is peeak!!! I want Quirrel to come back just so we could listen together again. I'll check back if you have more no worries! (also bear with me)

@@Hamstir4 I'mmmmmm Two days late 🫡 but hey better late than never yeah Yeah!! I love that Hornet's theme is composed entirely of strings. There's lots of vids out there gushing about how good the ost is. I also love the strings (harpsicord??? maybe??) that sound in the mantis village Hammy omg 😭😭that was so funny. The "We are so back" title card was such a good bit Tbh I don't think pogoing the mushrooms is that intuitive, I don't fault you for not getting it immediately. I only knew because I watched a bit of gameplay before playing the game myself Don't cut out segments! Getting lost is part of the experience!! Also if you want to place pins, you have to do so on a bench if I remember correctly (hope I'm not too late and you get this tip before the next vid) Leg Eater's charms may have a downside to them... but you won't know until you try em right? It couldn't hurt much, could it 🤔🤔 Honestly I feel like once you get the mantis claw, the game finally fully opens to you. There's more upgrades down the line but the claw is the real game changer YO you did Mantis Lords first try??? That was so cool I know it's still super early in the game, but they're my fave boss. Following their patterns kinda makes it feel like a dance, it's so rewarding You're doing great so far! Yeah those centipedes are just loud af 🫡 not my fault, that's just how Deepnest is You may want to go back to the mantis village btw! There's a couple of fun things now that you've defeated the Mantis Lords

Ah, Miss Hornet, the source of the Hollow Knight community's continued and everything growing insanity over the lack of information on her unreleased game. That all being said, we love miss SHAW with all our heart! Yes, those spirits, where did they come from? And why did they refer to you as a shadow? Why did Hornet refer to you as a Ghost? Mysteries upon Mysteries. Quirrel is an amazing well prepared bug and we love him for it! Don't worry about losing to the Balder shell trap, we all did when we first started. Thank God you went back for the Hunter's Journal, I was screaming about it but didn't want to spoil it last episode. Ah! You met Mossy! The easiest boss in the whole *Sees you struggle with them more than Hornet* ... I mean... really hard, super super hard, Mossy is a hard boss 😅 BOMB JELLYS! Murderous Bastards! I hate them! Thankfully the beauty of the Fog Canyon outweighs they're... explosive dedizens. Millibelle looks and sounds exactly like a sweet old grandma, although I will agree with you that the presence of a Bank, especially in the Explosives R Us that is the Fog Canyon, during the apocalypse, did always strike me as odd. I know it's for Gameplay and they wanted to put the Bank in an easy to access location (next to Queen's Station) but it still feels odd. I guess even the apocalypse can't stop the flow of Capitalism. QUEEN'S STATION, easily one of my favorite Stag Stations in the whole game! I LOVE that you can, especially when talking to Quirrel, hear the hustle and bustle of bugs long past, makes it feel almost alive, or normal! It has a lovely look and ambiance and you can really tell this was like a, Grand Central Station, for the bugs of Hallownest. We Love Stag. End of sentence. Huh, I've never even accidentally said no to Cornifer's maps before, so I got to see some dialogue I've never seen before! Thanks! Charm Notch Let's Go! CLOTH! She's the best, we love Cloth so much! Bag on her head, smacks things with her big wacking stick, doesn't try to murder you, takes naps literally underneath the road. She's perfect and we love her! So... you couldn't figure out the mushrooms and got lost... welp, it's Hollow Knight, sometimes you just get lost and don't know where to go, it's normal with a blind playthrough... but ugh... Lost... Mushrooms... just because it's understandable doesn't make it any less painful. Leg Eater! He's... weird and creepy and I never liked him but God damn does he have some good Charms. Like really really damn good Charms! Fragile tho... very Fragile. That little title card you made for the section of being Lost was really well done, super cute and very Hollow Knight! You know, I always forget Willoh is even a character, like... I ran into them once during my first playthrough and just... forgot about them. Like I remember every other one off NPC, but for some reason, Willoh never really sticks in my mind. 🤷 Ah! The Thorns of Agony, one of my Favorite Charms from my first playthrough, I am very glad you found it! WE ARE SO BACK! ANTI-JOVER! And we do feel for you, we were all once in your shoes, playing this game for the first time, it's all good! Mantis~ nasty buggars aren't they? Perhaps you noticed that little something about them that makes them different from other enemies? Ah! You did! Excellent! They are the group Cornifer talked of. Behold! The Mantis Claw, the best Mobility tool in the game. We Love Claw, it opens Hallownest, the whole game becomes so much more explorable with this item. Cherish it. The Mantis Lords are easily one of my favorite bosses in the entirety of Hallownest. They are fast, but not too fast, strong but not unfairly so, and they coordinate their attacks excellently. I love them so much, they are an excellent test of your abilities and an extremely fair fight. Oh... Deepnest... I'm gonna avoid spoilers and simply say... Good Luck! Dorsa Kalimo, GARAMA!

You have all my sympathies for Silksong. I may be joining in with the pain soon at this rate. Shaw! Mysteries! Clues we have is they want to sleep, but somehow, we are unknowingly waking them. If the three spirits represent the heads on that egg from the intro, perhaps they are seals unlocked if they were to wake up. and then, Thanos stuff happens. As for the ghost, perhaps it's that essence that is aversive to the spirits, causing them to wake. Quirrel take me with you! Haha, I figured I missed something up there, but wow* that was actually important. Cute the Hunter turned out to be a total nerd documenting every kill lol. Saame, I can ignore the hazards with how glamourous Fog Canyon is! Millibelle was sweet to hear, after being bombarded with explosives. And ofc! Even if there's just one fading civilization left, you can count there being a bank. Just, nowhere near the actual town. Regardless, we must keep the flow of Mother Economy! Maang, Queen Station's ambience was peak!! and sharing that moment with Quirrel adds to that. The entire area has this effect, so it was not as if we were hallucinating. We love Stag. No questions asked. You're very welcome, I exist to make mistakes and still win. But never should I say no to Cornifer from this point ^ and makes sense no one would ever willingly decline the map guy. Cloth is perfect!!! Although the snoring would be a problem for me, ofc absolutely not her fault. With her and Zote, we could protect the world from evil. Gah! Saame, I can't believe mushrooms stumped me. It's more obvious than the pogo spikes. I'm getting my Scylla flashbacks* Oooh, okay I see you Leg Eater ^ As useful as how scary he looks. I'd be down to try for more power if I'm feeling weak. It absolutely makes sense to have an NPC provide temporary but powerful charms. Looking back, not sure why I followed my irl instincts and not my in-game when I met him haha. (maybe I was that immersed) Thaanks, I figured it could be a running gag if I get lost again. (LOST) LOOL you know, I totally get you with Willoh. Like they're cute, but from our brief interaction, they did not provide many reasons to come back besides a brief company. Even then, they specified preferring to themselves. At the very least, they have a cool design ^ Thorns of Agony huh? I'm not excited about taking damage, but as we saw, perhaps it'd be appropriate lol. Also curious about the offense charms ^ I think my usual nail and vengeful spirit may be lacking in later fights. LOL it's jover no more! Ya, I was enjoying the game, I forgot about how long an episode could be if I took my time back and forth. It happens but I'll try to be more mindful haha. Thanks for sympathizing :) The Mantis also stood out by readying themselves for combat, unlike the usual mobs. Usual mobs appear to wander aimlessly in their zombie-like state. And you know, I do respect the mantis, but not those flying wasps that accompany, now those are the real buggars! Like why do they hiss as they fight? I will cherish it, it feels as essential as the dash! Speaking rhetorically, but I feel we're all set with mobility tools, unless we going down for a swim! Def can return to many of those bookmarked chambers I'd imagine with the Claw. (now if only I markered them) The boss design for the Mantis Lords was peak! Very fair I agree ^ and felt like a nice barrier entry to whatever horror lies ahead. I'm afraid to say I needed that luck. Next episode in that Deepnest, eh.. I was in there too long and that changes a person. Good source for Geo tho! Garama!

Actually, she looks kinda similar, her dress looks like the neck wear of the Mantis Lords. Also remembered I missed your comment on the Mossy. I swear, Mossy was such a problem for me haha. But I refuse to believe Mossy is the easiest! Okay maybe it's a skill issue for me. I will admit, I went for many careless heal attempts and its attacks are simple. And doesn't look like you need Dash to outmaneuver it either. Okay fine, so maybe it is the easiest. Aww mang, I can't unsee it now LOL. Alright, from now on, we are playing seriously. No more playing with our enemies. *Also little bonus update. Won't happen next episode, but Soul Master. God dammit.

"I just had the weirdest dream" Lol I had the same thought. Why do I feel like waking up those ghosts(?) was like. A bad idea? Like in-universe, maybe they were asleep for a reason? The Protagonist seems to be the archetypal, taciturn wandering knight/cowboy/ronin/etc. And part of that archetype is (seemingly) having no past, and thus no motivation. Multiple characters have brought up whatever is motivating the Protagonist, but we don't know what that is yet. I wonder if the reason the Protagonist is unaffected by the orange disease is as simple as having no olfactory mechanism, or if Miss Hornet is right and the Protagonist is a ghost. Ghosts don't need to smell. Leg Eater is definitely waving lots of red flags right now; his charms do not pass the sniff test. I don't think you should get rid of the "getting lost" sections--that seems to be an important part of the game, but of course the caveat to that is not being sure where you're supposed to go next and having lots of visibly inaccessible rooms. I wonder if the game is trying to tell you to buy the light from Sly? The Deepnest is kind of dark, and there are still those caves. You might be able to buy a lot of stuff, if only the banker lady had multiple branches of her bank...

It seemed like the 3 ghosts preferred to sleep and our presence (our ghost) may be threatening their slumber? And Hornet may be trying to protect them. Except I felt the ghosts appearing AFTER Hornet left contradicts this idea. I totally did not just picture our protagonist in a cowboy get up. Hornet brought up that we did something before? Based off of our interactions with everyone else (which I deem canon), our lil protag seems agreeable with Stag , Cloth, and Quirrel, even kind enough to save our hero Zote. Either our lil mang committed a taboo but lost their memories, or they bear a similar resonance that once threatened this world, maybe even caused the orange disease? Hmm! Cornifer did point out our protag's lack of ability to smell ^ I have a feeling the second point is more plausible, in that we are a ghost or "hollow", which can't be affected. More suspicious that our dark ghost appears in an upsetting state, but not corrupted by the orange disease ^ I went from pity to sus real quick with Leg Eater. But I believe in second chances! Okay! I don't think it'll be the last time I get lost, but I'll try to be more investigative from this point and use my markers to avoid double checking cleared/ bookmarked rooms. Oh yes, I would've preferred Millipede to be as accessible as the Stag for instance. and YOU KNOW MYSTERY? I wish I got your reminder sooner because I devoted a good amount of time in the Deepnest with a vague goal, and I did need that light from Sly lol. But it took me awhile to realize that, since well, lots of things. That's all to say, I think next episode may be mostly me checking every corner of Deepnest, because it made me dizzy lol.

@@Hamstir4 Yeah, I had the same thought. But at this point we know about as much about the Hornet's motivations as we do the Protagonist's lol. Like when she implied he's a threat to what's left of bug civilization, I was thinking, "Citation? What are your sources here?" WE don't even know his motivation and he's literally the player character lol. If the Protagonist somehow created the plague, could that explain his immunity to it too? We're now up to 3 possible reasons he can't get the plague. I think comparing Leg Eater to Gollum is apt. Lots of the ruins look like the Doors of Durin, and the "post-apocalypse in a complex fantasy realm" also applies to LotR after the Silmarillion and the Unfinished Tales. Speaking of being more investigative: there's some sort of shiny shard thingy next to a lever in the Queen's Station that you didn't interact with? At minimum it might count as a "come back later" lol. Deepnest being dizzying makes sense--its tunnels are narrower than the ones in other areas, it's considerably darker, and it feels...IDK, colder? more deserted? than the other areas we've seen thus far.

@@theheartofmymystery "Citations" LOL we are asking Hornet that next time. Mmmm! That'd be a twist that explains some things. Now what bugs me with that is the others haven't been infected yet, such as Quirrel, Hornet, and the others. I would have assumed people "turn" after they have fallen in combat, but that isn't necessarily the case with us (but we may be an exception for game purposes or our ghost). However, Sly wasn't exactly fallen, yet was succumbing to the orange disease (and that other bug I couldn't save yet). Thus, there must be some form of condition causing others from not turning over. Cornifer says the Mantis were intelligent groups, and none of the mobs look infected either. So! Appears it may be leaning more to battle of wills to resist the infection. And this would be in line with Hollow Knight's ideology in terms of adventuring or pursuing their desires. Everyone in the town is just sitting idly with no real purpose, while the people below are driven by broadly anything. Exploring, charting maps, battle, or uncovering history. This may be one of the main thesis of Hollow Knight, but I suspect there is more such as the ghost. I would like to know more about why the game chose the word "hollow" considering the game has a cast of characters with various goals and pursuits. Okay Mystery, you win here. I actually haven't read or seen all of LotR LOL. (We put a pause on the third film) Keep flexing your LotR knowledge. Ooh yes yes, you're right. It looked like some fragment, worth coming back to ^ Mhmm! Deepnest is as you described. And it is mentally draining with the creepy crawlies as we'll see later. It does look the coldest out of the other areas we've been ^ luckily we found the Springs!

Some parasite monster that became imposters of other men, and the way we briefly see the Thing as some bloodied abstract creature. It's been pretty good over here thanks :) Hope life's been slightly less disastrous to you lately haha. What a coincidence! You know, I literally just tuned in to find more songs added in Epic, was a pleasant surprise. The Saga takes Od on perhaps his lowest. I really enjoyed Little Wolf <3 Hamilton reference! @@Hamstir4 Dw, You've done plenty enough exploring, I just needed to see what Chronos' banner looks like and I couldn't find a clear picture, so I figured I could be smart about it and just go watch a surface run! Life's been stressy, but sorta less disastrous, yes! Adulting is hard Little wolf is so hype! Antinous' VA does a killer bad guy job! Calypso's VA does a wonderful job too, her voice is real nice! Don't worry about missing a comment O7 If you did you did but there's been plenty you've seen and there'll probably be plenty more when the full game comes out, one's not gonna be a life or death matter

I wouldn't know his name, but we could def give him one! I'm not even sure if we're the Hollow Knight, or we're looking for this Hollow Knight. LOL I feel the exact same in Minecraft when I jump off a cliff into the water. I try to think it'll numb me overtime, but I'm still waiting. Lucky us with our acrophobias. With how bleak this game is, I'll protect cartographer guy with my life. Oooh yes!! Ghibili designs are how I'd describe Hollow Knight. I think the Stag best represents the Ghibili vibe. I believe the film, Nausica, was bug themed, but I haven't seen the movie myself.

@@theheartofmymystery The most depressing I've watched is Graves of the Fireflies (screw that movie, in a good way). I think the film reflected its time, but oddly enough My Neighbor Totoro was released the same year? Good you knew enough about Graves to avoid it haha. Ugh* I adore Kiki's! LOL The music in this game is fantastic, and if you only knew one thing about Hollow Knight before this moment, I'm glad it's the music. Christopher Larkin is a Gods Dang Genius Stag is a great character, it's so much fun when you get a fast travel system with some Personality! Cornifer and Iselda are the cutest couple and we love these Map-Making/Selling folks! Quill is an incredibly incredibly important item in this game for the first time playing, so I'm glad you decided to buy it first. FINALLY Quirrel! The best boi! I'm so glad you like him already, he's so good! One of the best characters in the game, hands down. The Grubfather and the Grubs are the cutest characters in the entire game and saving them all is always my top priority to matter how many times I play this game. Too cute! Remembering how amazing you were in Hades II with the upgrades and changing your build to fit what you needed, I just knew you were going to take to Charms like a fish to water. #CompassIsBest The Mace just dipped lol, mang was actually using his friend to smack you around. Good job on False Knight! I love the Snail Shaman, he's one of my top 10 characters for sure, he's surprisingly trustworthy, despite the imprisonment. Also. Hard Agree. Greenpath is one of the best songs in all of Hollow Knight, easily a top 5 song. I love Greenpath so much. I spent a majority of my first playthrough in Greenpath just cause I liked it so much. There is only one location I like more than Greenpath. But it's pretty Late Game, so I won't spoil anything. Ah, you decides to save Zote the Mighty, a Knight of Great Renown... No Comment... The classic light commentary returns! and I take my bow. Ooo, I should've known there'd be mods for this game. But heck ya! I'm excited to finally get to Hollow Knight and appreciate the support! I would've played this game eventually anyways but it's more fun with y'all. I actually haven't touched the game since in case I wanted to wait for feedback and glad I did. So likely uploads on Hollow Knight would take more time, but hopefully worth it! They really are cute! Although they're often apart, I really do sense they love each other. And it's from Iselda we got mentions of the Hot Springs, hmm! I'm glad I made the right choice, the quill was quite affordable by the first shopping ^ Quirrel's got a unique aura about him that makes me trust and respect him ^ I definitely expect more out of him. If we were to power scale, I feel I'm level 20 while Quirrel is level 60 in our imaginary party. Yess! The Grub family are just the cutest. Happy to save the children! Okay okay! I was wondering if I would ever ditch the Compass charm, since I'm anticipating there'd be tons more charms to choose over? So I'm not crazy to think Compass is super necessary. (and you blush me about Hades, go on) Ya mang! I'm committing my belief that the Snail Shaman is an alright mollusk! Hmm! I'll keep my ears unplugged. I do find it funny to claim a best song on the first episode lmao, but I'm that confident about Greenpath. Happy that I wasn't crazy, hearing it's on your top 5! @Hamstir4 Compass is invaluable during a first playthrough, makes exploring way less confusing and frustrating, still comes in handing in subsequent explorations, but once you get the map truly down, you don't need it anymore. Zote is Zote, if you enjoy him, more power to you. Ba Panada is from Iselda, and Na Minobis is how Quirrel greets you!

@@Hamstir4 I'll still go back and watch/comment on the vids I've missed, but I'll leave some tips for Hollow Knight here first c: Unlucky for you, I know all the lore for this game so I can be very annoying about it -You're doing super well combat wise! Most people take ages to figure out how to pogo spikes and you got it on the first 15 minutes -Characters have *lots * of dialogue. Cornifer probably had more things to say after you bought his map. Try exhausting dialogue! You can talk to Iselda if you walk behind the counter to her, same with the Stag if you step down the platform closer to him. Elderbug in particular has lots of dialogue you can get throughout the game -"Is this game trying to make me feel bad?" Yes ((: -I'll leave more stuff later if I think of any non-spoilery tips. I hope you have fun playing <3 -(Also, I do think the game sounds a bit quiet tbh) And don't stop posting man! Bring it on! (Do we need a videogame safeword or something)

Riight, it was the barber's doing ^ so we could bring bodies back otherwise we get fined or penalized for any missing bodies. As for the halves, that's a unique kill effect from the barber. So, it's actually the same value as an entire corpse. Some monsters have a unique kill effect. For instance, a coilhead would turn your head into a coil, spiders would instant mummify, or in this case, barber splits your body in half. snip snip*

Batter! lmao, no worries. These are out of context clips so it's hard to understand. You gather loot and take it back to the ship. While you go for loot, the facilities are usually crawling with monsters. So, finding loot is the point of the game, but the monsters are who you run into as detours. Any more questions I don't mind answering, tho disclaimer, I play it casually so I'm not expert myself.

I hope they plan to explain the coexistence of Apollo and Helios. Some time ago I saw someone speculate on Tumblr that the last weapon would be a whip? I don't really have a preference for what I want it to be though lol. Yet another Tumblr theory: Hypnos is keeping the people who are supposed to be dead asleep, since Thanatos can't really do his job at the moment. Nice Hamlet reference from Skelly, although I'm not sure how he can make one, considering Shakespeare will not be born for hundreds of years in-game and it is unclear how/if the dead keep up with living culture. I'm glad you stuck so long with this game 🙂 I look forward to more of your Hades 2 videos after more content comes out. My guess so far is Helios is the real deal, while Apollo harnesses it's power, similar to how the Silver Sister who also represent the moon (Artemis) harnesses the moon's power from Selene. But perhaps it is basic to view it the counterparts as symmetrical. A whip is something, and oof* very dommy. but it's an idea! I honestly have no specific expectations either. (I'm telling you, it's an umbrella) Hey actually- I really like this development for Hypnos more ^ taking the mantle of his brother's job. It isn't a leap such as taking on Titans, but rather substituting for Thanatos. I very much like this theory! "I am slain!" While I was eating my food, he gave me food and the food almost fell on my head. Then, I yelled at him and told him to go away. And he did exactly what I told him. So I hoped that Hermes, Thanatos, and I could take him to Asphodel Meadows, where he could live a neutral life, whether good or bad.

Sorry to hear about your mom tho. Family issues are tough to come to terms with, which is why I can't suggest an easy solution or wishful thinking. besides making the best with what you have ^

By the looks, Asphodel looks about the same surprisingly based off of Chronos teleporting us from Oceanus. As for Elysium, hard to say, but I'd imagine it's all a mess considering the gates of the Underworld is open, and Elysium is the closest region from Styx.
