For Appsro, when building you need everything to be sound but can remove logs afterwards and if you use quarter/half logs to make struts and that will help strengthen the build's stability. Also sticks place fown can be hit with a axe to tilt thenand sharpen them. Also Stone is great to build structures resistant to attacks

And don’t forget to make armors burn bodies to get bones and combine with tape and rope to make armor otherwise the cannibals will take your health fast. Creepy armor is good too but I know y’all know about that from the first game

I don't usually like to backseat but you can just put down a bunch of log holder blueprints down, tell Kalvin to finish buildings, then when they're built, tell him to collect logs and fill into the log holders. Will save you so much time if you want to do a lot of building.

Although I much prefere the pacing here so far. I recently rewatched the Forest Supercut and they basically speedran through the game because Appsro took the roleplay a bit too serious (imo) and rushed them through all the caves. And then they finished it before their FIRST base was fully done. This series looks to be great though, they haven't even really started the main story and the base building is already in full progress.

Yeah, terrain is a huge issue. Main workaround I know is supports and cutting the logs to the right height. The log will correct itself to fill in any space if one log looks like it’s going be a little lower than the previous. But only enough to even out the attachment points. A full log won’t attach flat to a 3/4 log unless the terrain allows for it.
