Thank you very much for giving me a chance to do a video of such imperfect setting and in such a rushed style of delivery. Thank you for viewing it for over 440k times even though I honestly did not deserve it. I was sick and was on medication that might have made me come off a bit jittery, I was feeling the high tension rising up in the US and had only one way of doing something about it. If I made even a tiny fraction of my viewers feel better even for just a couple minutes then my mission was accomplished. Dear Maria, I've wanted to leave a comment on your videos for some time, but felt what I wanted to say was too personal. I have to say it after this video, though: your commitment to compassionate healing has truly effected my life in a profound way. Over the last few years I've struggled with my mother's death, my own mental illness and hospitalization, religious experiences and crises of faith, wrestling with whether to go into monastic life at one point even, changing careers, going back to school...your videos have been a mainstay throughout it all. They have been a vital part of my therapeutic process, and have helped encouraged me to embrace healing and personal growth. The loving-kindness you practice is a gift to us all. I stayed home from school today because I was too distraught with the election results, and the feeling that our society has commited itself to hatred and delusion, to embracing violence, abuse, oppression. Oh my gosh Masha. I needed this so badly. I literally just got back from the cancer clinic today where I found out that my mother, the person in my life who is my rock and my best friend, has stage four breast cancer that has spread to her bones. I'm so scared. I have been crying nonstop and thought I was going to go crazy. Thank you for the video.

La Chingona Alright this I'll be a long one so bear with me. Btw neither me nor my family has had any experience with cancer. Also I'm a guy. So in third grade, one of my good friends was sitting with me at lunch in maybe mid to late October. She was called to the principals office. She went and twenty minutes later, she came back with a red face, bloodshot eyes, and was shaking. I was very confused, but decided not to ask. She didn't come back to school for the next 3 days. But when she came back, the news had spread like wildfire. She just found out that her mom was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. I was in shock. It was the first time anyone remotely close to me had to deal with cancer. I did my best to be a caring, empathetic, understanding friend. But one day she lashed out at me, saying I didn't really care, and that I was just another person who was supposed to treat her like she was all special because her mom had cancer. And that I should just leave her alone. I was in shock. I slowly walked away in awe. I thought I had done something wrong, and that I was just making her situation worse. So I just left her alone, which made me feel even worse, but I didn't know what to do. I didn't talk to her, especially during the hard part when her mother died, and I wasn't there for her. But when I finally decided to stop being a wimp and talk to her she acted like nothing ever happened. Then I realized, she finally found a constructive way to cope, move on. So the moral is, don't push anyone away, take all the help you can get, and find a good way to cope in desperate times. Best of luck to you!
