It's nothing special, it's actually very common in this game. It happens always when you cross the finish line while you are watching cutscene, such as emp:ing or spike stripping someone. The game is programmed to show you ending cutscene when you cross the finish line, and when you are watching cutscene and car goes over the line, the gane has to return the car backwards to cross the line again but this time in ending cutscene. I hope this was not too messy.
