5:00:01 The cop death cry fading in the distance always got me as a kid, lol. Good feeling leaving behind a fiery train wreck and finally getting some breathing room.

I still like this version, way more than its PC counterpart. I find the PS1 more pleasing to the eye, than the PC version. More details, even if they're pixelated as all hell. Even the audio track has more kick in the PS1 version. Funny enough, I played the PC version first, and years later I played the PS1 version, and never looked back.

That's interesting, there are also differences with the 2nd game on PC and PlayStation I've heard. Different tracks, even a different campaign structure.

@@PlayStationPaul I don't remember very much about NFS2, other than the graphics on PS1 were worse, the colors were washed out and the framerate was pretty laggy. But it was pretty much the same game. Graphics aside, only minor differences. However, there were NFS games very different between PS1 and PC versions: the one presented here, NFS III Hot Pursuit, NFS Road Challenge (High Stakes), Porsche 2000 (Porsche Unleashed) and NFS Hot Pursuit 2 (that's for PS2 not PS1, but still a different version than the PC one). I should pick up and play again through NFS II. In an ideal world, EA wouldn't suck so hard, and the first 3 games would be remade with modern hardware and expanded. Imagine those games, only bigger and sexier. That would be the stuff of legends.

@@caradinegeorge Yeah, I was talking about Hot Pursuit 2, I've not played NFS2. They did remake Hot Pursuit, then did a remaster of the remake. I've not played that but want to.

@@PlayStationPaul I'm sorry, I misunderstood you then. Personally, I dislike the new Hot Pursuit, in a way it feels emptier than the first Hot Pursuit games. When I talked about EA remaking the games, I wasn't talking about what most understand a remake or a remaster is. If they just used new graphics, but kept everything else untouched (videos, music, cars, tracks), than it would've been marvelous.

@@caradinegeorge Definitely would be interesting to see something like that. Actually sounds like the sort of thing that could happen as a fan remake rather than EA doing it. This game still has it’s fans so who knows? You’d probably want EA’s resources over a fan remake though, for it to look really amazing, maybe doing the first three in one package might be worth their while.
