I wished something like this would be thing, but never seen the light. Most Wanted could been in development for 2 years or more if the EA gave Criterion some time to make the perfect sequel.

Well now that Criterion is back. And NFS 2021 has been delayed to 2022, maybe there's hope. Not holding my breath though. But who knows.
